I can agree with the Bahrain, UAE, and Kuwait. I will throw in Lebanon and Qatar too.
I do have questions regarding Egypt and Jordan. We can not get good press in Egypt. Jordan has to many people that hang with the evil doers. I know the President of Jordan is not a Westernaphobe, but I have to see better actions from Jordanians before I trust them. I think Lybia is stagnant. Pak government is as helpful as they can be, but at any moment could become our enemy (with the lose of Musharraf.
I am sure that Syria, Iran, Sudan, the people in Saudi Arabia, some people in Oman and Yeman will burn my flag in their street at any given time. In any case, I think it is important to show all these people that if you knock one of our buildings down, you will see US power. If these people deliver a nuke on our soil, we should deliver 911 times 100 right back at them. The message in both cases should be: don't do it. Stay away. Danger - high voltage

Wishful thinking. If we were crusading against Islam, there would be NO muslims in the US or elsewhere.

'more lefties' ideas.'
I didn't know the Left had ideas.
I have to soak this in for a moment because I was unaware that business, engineering, and Science is 50/50. I can clearly see how the humanities has the liberals.
OK, you are telling me that it is not as bad as I think. You are telling me that it is almost safe to have children and send them to college now.
It is still not safe because a professor can bend my child against his/her will.
you said: '(I frequently, in searches, see conservative students who have had to adopt a "race/class/gender" line for their dissertation topic or risk never getting hired). '
Is this a form of coercion and should it be permitted?

If you think a prof can "bend your child's mind" against his or her will, think again. Most of my students are pretty thoughtful, and certainly they don't all take what I say as gospel, nor do I allow them to do so. Even the lefties here OCCASIONALLY ask students to justify their views and to look at the "other" side. Don't underestimate your kids. I think the recent resurgence of conservatives on campus has been only PARTLY due to Rush/the net/Fox and much more due to the fact that these kids were raised in a liberal era and saw that it didn't work. (Remember, college kids today had their period of awareness under CLINTON.
I know one Phil. prof. who said, "Before I let a student say, 'I believe x, y, or z,' I make them give me three good counter arguments to x, y, z." He was really proud of himself.
I said, "Ok, so give me three good counter-arguments to why they should do that." He was utterly baffled.

I can't prove that he is dead or alive. However, the tapes do not seem to show any age progression on his part. It may well be that he and or his aids are down to playing mind games with the west by releasing tapes of questionable authenticity. There will always be another person ready to take his place. This means that we should IMO stay focused on the threat and not just the person currently directing the threat.

About two weeks ago, a coworker was bragging that his fourteen year old put her liberal teacher in his place. You are probably correct that Wart Churchill couldn't bend my kids mind.
I am just so polarized, that I don't want liberals talking to my kids, let alone give a liberal the right to teach my kids. I don't even hang out with liberals. I don't want to belly up to the bar with liberals.
counter-argument:
you might have fun
you may look compassionate hanging out with a liberal.
you could learn something from liberals.
counter-counter-argument:
I would not have fun buying all the beer.
I don't want to look compassionate and would probably look brokeback instead.
When you are out drinking, you want to relax. Trying to learn from stupid people screws up all your relaxation time. Besides, I quit drinking.
So, I will not be polarizing with these people anytime soon and I don't want them teaching my kids. After talking to you, I can trust my kid, but I still don't trust liberals.

The speaker also criticised Western involvement in the Sudan saying it was part of the "crusades against Islam" and called for terrorist to journey there to join the fight.
Just which side would the Islamic Black Americans fight on, the terrorizing Islamic Arab Janjaweed side or the Islamic Black African side that is being slaughtered by the Janjaweed?
For the life of me I cant understand why any American would want to be a part of the hatefulness of Islam, unless of course, they are people that are filled with hate!

...proves the US is at war with Islam; calls it a Zionist conspiracy against Islam. We are and it is. So what? :P And he can't do a thing about it, and he'd better be careful where he pokes his head out at, he might get it blown off of that tall anorexic frame of his.

Al Jazeera should rethink their policy of airing his blatherings.
Do they get ratings or is there any way of knowing how many people actually watch Al J.?
Are they really who they seem to be? If so, how do you think they can best be marginalized? As a poster alluded to above...Al J. seems to get tapes, "exclusives," etc. but we don't seem to be asking them any questions.
Something doesn't add up....IMHO.

They know how to play our drive by media like a fiddle. Unfotunately the media is more than happy to do their bidding.
Is there not any organization in the US that can beat the "drive by media" and Al J.'s hand? Everyone is playing poker and we are still trying to understand checkers?
Clean or dirty, covert or overt...is there not any US or coalition entity that can make Al J. and the Islamists go crying to their mommies?
Maybe I've been watching too much '24'....nah....

Does anyone besides me believe he's likely being sheltered in the Eastern part of Iran? Seriously.
As likely in Iran as Afghanistan/Pakistan, I would agree. I have always doubted that the coalition can't have access to the regions in Afghanistan/Pakistan per the leadership of those countries.
Afghan/Pak owe the coalition...big time...for their continued existence. I think the stories about the coalition not being allowed in certain Afghan/Pak areas is a ruse that allows us greater access than the coalition would have than if it looked like the coalition was freely swarming all over Afghan/Pak.

In a way it's like our media. They make super-stars out of the worst criminal element in our nation.
In this instance though, they are nurturing continued violence. Either they are blind, or they just don't care that their own Middle-Eastern viewers are the vast majority of those affected negatively by that violence.
