Those who disagree with the Bush administration's policies in Iraq face the same scornful charges that they are unpatriotic as Sen. John Kerry did 35 years ago when he spoke out against the Vietnam War, the Massachusetts Democrat said Saturday.
"I have come here today to reaffirm that it was right to dissent in 1971 from a war that was wrong. And to affirm that it is both a right and an obligation for Americans today to disagree with a president who is wrong, a policy that is wrong, and a war in Iraq that weakens the nation," Kerry said to a standing ovation Saturday at Boston's historic Faneuil Hall.

It looks like F'n Kerry is looking for a "do-over" of 2004. Sorry John, you don't get Mulligans in politics. (:^D)

Opposing a war that you think is wrong BEFORE IT STARTS is patriotic.
Doing so afterwards can easily become downright seditious.
I love how these bimbos think that they can prance around claiming that they support the troops while at the same time undermining their mission. I'd love to just look them in the eye and simply say, "No, you don't." Just to see what kind of reaction would ensue.

>>"Opposing the war for moral, ethical, or religious reasons may be justifiable. Opposing the war for political opportunism is pathetic."<<
Exactly.
But even when believe a war is not wise or right it is still important to go about it in a way that considers the good of the country.
It was one thing to say "I believe the Vietnam war is wrong" and quite another to Hanoi and give comfort to the enemy as Jane Fonda did.

No, Mr. Kerry. Free speech is patriotic. Loving your country is patriotic. Hot dogs and apple pie are patriotic.
Opposing your country when troops are in battle is not patriotic at all. In fact, it borders on the criminal.
