NEW ORLEANS (Reuters) - Democratic Party chief Howard Dean said on Saturday the Bush administration had "cut and run" on Gulf Coast hurricane recovery and created a political legacy of deficits, divisiveness and deceit.

Dean, speaking at the Democratic National Committee's spring meeting, said November's congressional elections would be a choice between real change from Democrats or more of the same from Republicans.

"Dean says Bush "cut and run" on Katrina"

What an ironic choice of words since that's what Dean wants in Iraq.

Just the words "Dean says" should be enough.

Why do the idiot Dims think that stringing words together into what they think is some sort of slogan will be enough to actually sway a person's opinion? Don't they know that most people thinks about what they hear and analyze its content?

"There has been enough of fear, incompetence and corruption..."

Howie, you do know what city you're speaking in, don't you? You do know that said city has long been legendary for the incompetence and corruption of its government? And you do know which political party has been almost exclusively in charge of said city for decades?

As to cutting and running...I heard about the feds having problems getting into New Orleans. I'll even allow that they could have gotten there faster, although I'm not sure how much faster anybody could reasonably expect under the circumstances. I don't remember hearing about anybody on the federal side loading up their work vehicles and deserting to another state rather than reporting in and working. I mean, I really wonder why this is a conversation you want to continue.

Why exactly is it the federal government's job to clean up local weather messes, anyway?

The people who didn't do their jobs were School Bus Nagin and Blanco the Indecisive.

The Democrat's world has just shrunk to the size of New Orleans all the sudden.

Popular Mechanics and Katrina Myths or the MSM SPIN.

Reality: Bumbling by top disaster-management officials fueled a perception of general inaction, one that was compounded by impassioned news anchors. In fact, the response to Hurricane Katrina was by far the largest--and fastest effort in U.S. History, with nearly 100,000 emergency personnel arriving on the scene within threeday of the storms landfall.

I did not see much of the ranking Demo on the Ethics committee stepping down or that the CIA leaker was a Sandy Berger appointee and a Kerry supporter, as was the perp. in Homeland Security.

MSM bias ain't none.

This really is an insult to all of the thousands of Americans who have helped Katrina victims. He acts as if votes for Dems would get Republicans off of the stage, but what I want to know is how do we shut these guys up?

Is it just me..or does it seem odd that all the other hurricane ravaged areas have carried on. Maybe Mr. Dean (and I use the Mr. lightly) would be better served if he provided a plan for reconstruction...as the governing factions in New Orleans don't seem to have one. Mr. (cough) Dean carried out a wheel barrow of insulation from a ruined home..or so I read. Sounds like a photo op to me.
