What an abomination! The bigotry of low expectations ...
Wish I could ask the judge why he or she thinks little Pakistani babies deserve less protection from torture than other babies in Britain.
Hope your wee one gives you a break soon. My first was a very fussy baby due to GERD- which is basically acid reflux. If he wasn't screaming he was puking. But, like you, I never considered beating, shaking or suffocating my child to stop the cries.
Good luck and trust me it WILL get better.
There was a thread a few weeks ago about a Somali babysitter that learned to "discipline" children by burning them with heated forks.
If people are truly that ignorant, they shouldn't be allowed to have children among civilized people. They should have sent her back to Bangladesh to live with the rest of the barbarians.
Congrats, saganite! Michelle Malkin has quoted and directly linked to your comment!
Thanks, Oh Dominatrix of Nice. :) All our books tell us that it's a phase...she went through a period at two months where she just screamed for two hours a night, guaranteed, due to gas and colic. She's more or less over that, but in the evenings she always seems a bit frantic...when I put her down on the changing table she's wiggling, flailing, eyes wide, little fists balled up. But she's not in pain, there's nothing wrong with her, she's just extremely high-maintenance right now. Fortunately she's also incredibly cute.
We accept the fussy evenings as the price of her sleeping 6-8 hours through the night, almost every night, as she has since the incredible age of six weeks.
And she gets to take her first airplane trip tomorrow. Foxfire4 and daughter are flying to Atlanta, and I follow via truck on Thursday, then we go do a craft show over next weekend and drive back (Atlanta to Richmond, one day, straight through) with Gracie in the truck. Should be, uh, interesting?
}:-)4
Vlad gets the gassy grumps, too. But he tends to fall asleep on the changing table; sometimes I get a whole batch of ironing done while he just lies there :-).
I hope you have a great trip to Atlanta. A bottle for the ascent, to pop the ears, and then they tend to go fast asleep for the duration of the flight. We had an unfortunate incident when Der Prinz gave Anoreth *tomato juice*, but what do you expect?!?
Driving trips can be good, if baby likes movement, or horrid, if baby is hungry.
And I haven't had more than 4 hours sleep since Vlad was born, so count your blessings :-).
Then maybe they shouldn't have allowed this barbarian into the West to begin with. This might also explain much of the savagery going on in the Middle East right now. Maybe they are all beaten into this idiocy as children.
Boffo. Commit crimes. Hurt your children.... And ya get a pass if you were born in a third world pit
Because the SOLE PURPOSE of babies/children in Islam is for them to DIE for Allah. You think they see a difference between a baby and a kid strapped with bombs?
Wanting your kid to die is a GOOD thing in Islam.
Okay. Let's assume for the moment that this judge was absolutely right: the woman, being an ignorant sub-human (and very likely kept that way because of the backward barbaric culture into which she had the extreme misfortune to be born), had no idea that what she was doing was horrifying child abuse, beyond the pale for any civilized human being. In other words, she did not know that what she was doing was wrong.
That is the very definition of an insanity defense. When a person is found not guilty by reason of insanity, it's because the court has found that the defendant was incapable of discerning that his action was wrong. So how can you simultaneously rule that the woman was not guilty because she was ignorant of the reprehensible moral character of her act and that she is not mentally insane?
Holy crap!
I saw that too, "in her care," and wonder if the child is from a different set of parents? It is not discernable from the article. Although if the parents were/are others then it truly debunks the courts attitude of cultural ignorance for her and would bring to light neglect on the part of the parents.
Sometimes it seems that journalists make a deliberate effort to confuse us!
Sorry. That case still enrages me.
It will continue to do so. Jacko, a pariah in America facing mounting expenses and legal fees, is setting up camp in Bahrain. Either because of or as a result of his association with Saudis and other Muslim moneymen, he's let deep-seated anti-Semitic stuff ooze out of his pale face in the past decade or so. IMHO, he will eventually have to decide if he will convert to Islam. If he refuses to do so, and his fetish for association with young boys continues apace, his sufferings in a relatively tolerant America were a prologue of worse times.
But it was ok because she was just a fun loving teenager. :-/
She was allowed to return to the UK where she did an interview with Martin Bashir. She then happily went on to law school and was the beneficiary of a fund set up for her.
So from this I can only conclude that the proper way British to treat someone who shakes a child to death is to give them money and send them to law school.
