Just breaking on Fox...
No details, but the agent was caught dead to rights leaking....
Update: CIA Officer Fired for Leaking Classified Info to Media
WASHINGTON A CIA officer has been relieved of his duty after being caught leaking classified information to the media.
CIA officials will not reveal the officer's name, assignment, or the information that was leaked. The firing is a highly unusual move, although there has been an ongoing investigation into leaks in the CIA.
One official called this a "damaging leak" that deals with operational information and said the fired officer "knowingly and willfully" leaked the information to the media and "was caught."
I heard a portion of a FNC report that mentioned the foreign prison stuff was a set up (sting).
Typhoid Mary McChristmas.
I am outta here for this night!
Good. I hope they have more stings.
Thanks for the ping!
Not to stand up for Wilson but IIRC his family had money. If someone else recalls differently let me know but I think that is what I read on one blog or the other.
That is the question. This scumbag was NOT acting on any "principle" and she was certainly not acting alone - - she had a "handler". Will Goss be able to ferret out her handler? Who could it be? Who COULD it be....?
WOW!!
That motto really needs to be repeated over and over. VERY catchy.
"The Democrats and their culture of treason."
From Flopping Aces:
Havent seen it mentioned yet (still catching up on todays threads and if Im repeating something bear with me), so for references sake Ill add that the Center for International Policy was a spinoff of the Fund for Peace (Soviet/CPUSA moneylaundering conduit tied to the Institute for Policy Studies network) that was cofounded in 1975 by Lindsay Mattison and Orlando Letelier, an agent with links to Cuban and East German intelligence. Letelier was CIPs director when William Goodfellow (a Pol Pot apologist mentioned above in the thread) was deputy director. CIPs staff/advisors have included Anthony Lake (who temporarily replaced John Deutch as CIA Director and was in turn replaced by Sandy Berger at the Clinton NSC during the coverup of Chinagate and Deutchs mishandling of classified information (see discussion at Post 35 and following); and D. Gareth Porter (aka Gary Porter, another Pol Pot apologist who worked for a North Vietnamese news bureau before becoming legislative aide to newly-elected Senator John Kerry in the early 80s), among others. These folks were actively involved in helping Kerrys support of the Sandinistas in the 1980s and are mentioned in various literature on that topic.
Thanks for that information. Very interesting indeed.
RE: AP Photo
Unbelievable! You know, I think I've finally figured out what happened. Sometime around 1996, during you-know-who's occupation of the White House, we started going BACK in time . . . We're in 1984 now . . .
From Wikepedia......During the FBI investigation into Letelier's assassination, the contents of the briefcase he had with him were copied and leaked to Rowland Evans and Robert Novak of the Washington Times before being returned to his widow.
More about the org McCarthy's husband, Goodfellow, works with....
Wikepedia search on Orlando Letelier: "Although potentially explosive, the supposed contents of the briefcase proved not to be damaging to the reputations of either Letelier or of the Institute for Policy Studies. Opponents of Letelier and the IPS complained that leading news media in the United States, including the New York Times and the Washington Post refused to cover the story and even rejected paid advertisements referring to the matter. Supporters of Letelier and the IPS feared that public knowledge the contents of the briefcase might turn the assassination into merely a case of spy vs. spy."
Gary Porter, Guy Gran and William Goodfellow (Indochina Resource Center, Center for International Policy, etc). who denied, before Congress, that the Khmer Rouge were practicing genocide in Cambodia, and at the very time that it was happening. Even liberal Rep. Stephen Solarz (D-NY), 1976 hearings, literally called them liars and psychopaths. (Probably House Foreign Affairs or International Affairs Committee, subcommittee on Asia, hearings, 1976-77. Might be entitled "Human Rights in Cambodia".
Prof. George McT. Kahin, in his book on "The US in Vietnam" devoted only one line to Ho Chi MInh's bloody repression in the North during the "Land Reform" and "Land Rectification" programs in which tens of thousands of "landlords" were slaughtered. Figures range from 50,000 to 500,000.
Harrison Salisbury was a good propagandist for Hanoi (N Y Times).

Report: Ex-CIA Official Blasts White House
Sat Apr 22, 9:47 PM ET
WASHINGTON - The former chief of the CIA's European operation is accusing the White House of ignoring the spy agency's doubts that Iraq had a budding nuclear program or weapons of mass destruction as the U.S. prepared for war.
"The policy was set. The war in Iraq was coming and they were looking for intelligence to fit into the policy," Tyler Drumheller told CBS' "60 Minutes" for an interview to be broadcast Sunday night. The network released excerpts ahead of the airing.
The White House has denied that intelligence, while flawed, was exaggerated or manipulated in the months before the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in March 2003.
Drumheller, who retired last year, said the White House ignored crucial information from a high and credible source who claimed that there were no active programs for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. "60 Minutes" identified the source as Iraq's foreign minister, Naji Sabri, with whom U.S. spies had made a deal.
CIA Director George Tenet delivered the information to President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and other high-ranking officials in September 2002, according to Drumheller. A few days later the administration said it was no longer interested.
Drumheller said he was told about the exchange that followed: "And we said, 'Well, what about the intel?' And they said, 'Well, this isn't about intel anymore. This is about regime change.'"
CIA spokesman Tom Crispell said Saturday that Drumheller's remarks do not reflect the views of the agency.
It is scary reading this thread. Coupled with an hour or two of googling, the amount of information I found is vast. And I am no data miner. I would love to see the professionally compiled dossiers on McCarthy and her husband. I am sure it would be fascinating reading. Suppose they plan on releasing all this material before the elections.....with Tony Snow fielding questions from the press? Should be more interesting times ahead! Sure, CIA official has links to socialists and communists and tries to take down a President in a time of war, but what's going on with the Duke lacrosse players!
This is getting very interesting.
John Kerry and his anti-American IPS playmates

In the mid-80s the Senate Subcommittee on Narcotics, Terrorism and International Operations was set up with John Kerry's help. What became known as the "John Kerry Committee" quickly became a vicious means of opposing President Reagan's policy of ridding Central America of Marxist-Leninist thugs.
snip
John Kerry put Gary Porter, a fellow of the IPS, on his payroll as a legislative aid. This is of particular interest because Kerry's anti-defense and intelligence voting record exactly mirrors the IPS's anti-defense and anti-intelligence proposals, which in turn toed the Soviet line.
snip
It was the pro-Castro Richard Barnet, cofounder of the IPS, who accused the CIA of being a "criminal enterprise that must be dismantled". Kerry agreed with Barnet to the extent that even after the 1993 Twin Towers bombing he still tried to slash intelligence spending.
Porter and Peter Kornbluh, another pro-Soviet member of the IPS, helped arrange Kerry and Harkin's 1984 trip to Managua, the result of which persuaded the Senate to vote against the Contras.

IPS, the Institute for Policy Studies celebrates its 37th year as the only multi-issue progressive think tank in Washington, D.C. Through books, articles, films, conferences, and activist education IPS offers resources for progressive social change locally, nationally, and globally.
IPS has core programs on Peace and Security, the Global Economy, and Paths for the 21st Century, supplemented by several projects that address specific issues. These program areas are linked with each other and with coalitions around the country through the Progressive Challenge networking and outreach program, which unites single issue organizations and programs under a common, multi-issue progressive agenda entitled the Fairness Agenda for America.
The Institute also houses three other networking programs: The Social Action and Leadership School for Activists (SALSA), the Letelier/Moffitt Human Rights Awards program, and the IPS Publications Program. Through its classes, SALSA teaches activists how to manage, organize, communicate, and strategize more effectively. The Letelier/Moffitt Human Rights Awards annually honors outstanding human rights activists in memory of two IPS staff killed by a car bomb in 1976 under orders of the Chilean Secret Police.
