No details, but the agent was caught dead to rights leaking....

Update: CIA Officer Fired for Leaking Classified Info to Media

WASHINGTON — A CIA officer has been relieved of his duty after being caught leaking classified information to the media.

CIA officials will not reveal the officer's name, assignment, or the information that was leaked. The firing is a highly unusual move, although there has been an ongoing investigation into leaks in the CIA.

One official called this a "damaging leak" that deals with operational information and said the fired officer "knowingly and willfully" leaked the information to the media and "was caught."

I'm guessing Dana Priest had to fill out a job application when she went to work for the Washington Post. She would have been asked on the ap who to call in case of emergency.
Imagine a writer for a major American newspaper having to tell her boss that if there is an emergency involving her, her boss should call her husband at the Communist Front Organization where he is an Executive Director. Ungh.

Well, in the old days they would shred documents. Or stuff them down their socks...

Obviously with the creation of the internet and Caches it's more difficult to "shred" all incriminating documents. The hackers are fighting a losing battle on this one. Thousands of people are reading this thread and backing up everything on it. Of course the Libs are reading it too, and wiping information out after the fact. Ridculous, really, since the information had already been sent to multiple sources by that time. They'd better spend their time rooting out sources that haven't been located yet to destroy. IF they knew how to research anymore that is...

Starman417, sorry about your site. On the plus site you obviously intimidated them with the information you had stored. They considered you a threat. What a better compliment? :-)

that says that "a growing number of CONSERVATIVE Senate Republicans are saying that in order for the American people to feel better about the change in the direction of the war in Iraq....either Cheney OR Rumsfeld have to go"....

Kasich is hardly a conservative, his two other triplets beiing Scarborough and Tucker. Who's his idea of a conservative? Lindsey Graham?

Fact is that Congress can't get either of the two out, and the President isn't going to. What this is REALLY about is that Congress wants to control the W.H. Or at very least the war. They can't do that without a chosen one to shepherd their agenda through. They need someone that professes loyalty to Congress over the administration. To select a new Vice or DOD requires Senate confirmation. basically McCain and his group want to stage a coup of the W.H., since they couldn't get it through the elective process. Similiar to what they did in the Senate when the Fourteen seized control.

UPDATE IV: Let's dispel another misnomer in that the MSM is presenting Mary loose lips as 'just an ordinary operative', when in fact under The Agency organizational chart, the office of Inspector general answers directly to the DCI. Trust me, this is huge and she isn't going to roll alone.

It seems the CIA is full of these people. No wonder it's such a mess.

"It's of keen interest to me to see whether or not we can get Karl Rove frog-marched out of the White House in handcuffs. And trust me, when I use that name, I measure my words." -- Joe Wilson (D)

"Neo-conservatives and religious conservatives have hijacked this administration, and I consider myself on a personal mission to destroy both." -- Joseph Wilson(D)

"Whoever leaked that comment about my wife did it very clearly to smear my good name and my wife's good name." -- Joseph Wilson(D)

"We were just discussing today who would play her in the movie," -- Joseph Wilson(D)

contrary to what Wilson wrote in the New York Times, Saddam Hussein was trying to acquire uranium from Niger. In support of that proposition are a Senate report in Washington, Lord Butler's report in London, MI6, French intelligence, other European agencies -- and, as we now know, the CIA report, based on Joe Wilson's original briefing to them.

From the same link as above... This guy isn't even a covert Marxist. And he's a neighbor of Rush's. Wonder if we could send Rush over to borrow a cup of sugar and check out the guy! Lol

Jim Mullins, senior fellow: Mullins is a retired businessman whose career was interspersed with stints of activism and leadership positions in the civil rights movement, opposition to the Vietnam War, Amnesty International, the United Nations Association and the American Civil Liberties Union.

He has traveled extensively in the Middle East, China, the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe during the Communist era. Upon retirement, he opened a Miami office associated with the International Center for Development Policy and spearheaded a media program exposing the terrorist tactics impeding free speech in the Cuban American community. He shuttled back and forth to Central America advancing dialogue for peace.

He brought Soviet "new thinkers" to speak at universities throughout Florida after participating in an exchange of foreign policy specialists between the Soviet Union and the U.S. He has been an associate of the Center for International Policy since 1992 and organized delegations of open minded Cuban American leaders to visit Washington to present diverse views and changes in American policy towards Cuba.

Now living in Palm Beach County, he writes a biweekly op-ed column on foreign policy for the South Florida Sun Sentinel and lectures at Palm Beach Community College on international relations.

Guess this will teach me a lesson. Never figured I would get too much attention by the left but I guess after Michelle and a few of the biggies mentioned me today that was all it took. Never again.

"Blitzer was horrified"

You have to understand the culture of leaking that exists in Washington, D.C. Reporters love leaks, because it gives them something to write about. Government flunkies and politicos love leaks, because they can further their agendas without ever being held responsible. They're protected by anonymity. For the CIA to fire a leaker violates one of the unspoken rules of Washington. Hence, the horror of all the Washington journalists.
