queen Hillary email on earth day

Posted on 04/21/2006 7:09:21 AM PDT by Gopher Broke

Dear Friend,

Earth Day this Saturday offers us a moment to think about our environment and of the world around us - the air we breathe, the water we drink, the great natural treasures that we have inherited. I hope we will think of it as a day to rededicate ourselves to protecting our planet: our home for our children and their children.

Because the threats to our environment and way of life are real and growing.

In the last five years, the Bush administration has left no major environmental law untouched in their push to deregulate, undermining or rolling back decades of regulations put in place to protect our heath. The results are all around us: more greenhouse gases, global warming, rising seas, more violent storms like Katrina. The endless demand for higher-priced oil is depleting world supplies, weakening our economic security, and worsening global warming.

We urgently need a national energy strategy that confronts these challenges head on. We certainly need more than one line in the State of the Union address.

We can kick our oil addiction and slow global climate change while making our economy more globally competitive and generating well paying jobs. We can develop renewable energy and energy efficiencies, protecting our wilderness from drilling and our shores from oil spills. We can create alternative energy industries, which will mean cleaner streams, healthier air, and fewer greenhouse gases.

We have the National Institutes of Health; why don't we have a National Institute of Energy?

Let oil companies be part of the solution by investing some of their historic profits, due partly to subsidies, into a strategic energy fund to develop alternative energy forms.

The strategic fund would spur the development and deployment of new energy technologies. We could increase consumer tax breaks to buy fuel-efficient vehicles, extend incentives to produce electricity from renewable sources, and make bio fuels more widely available.

We also need to develop an aggressive energy research program and a portfolio of cutting edge technologies to create new forms of marketable energy and energy conservation.

And if we take this seriously right now, we can see results in the near future, because so much of the technology -- like wind farms, solar energy cells, ethanol, and biodiesel -- already is on the brink of being commercially feasible.

What we need now is a commitment to our national and global environment and the practical energy strategy that will back up that commitment.

Our country needs more than a short-sighted, oil company-dependent energy policy that values drilling anywhere for oil more than it values protecting our planet.

We Americans have always thrived on challenges. It's in our blood. So let's challenge ourselves on this Earth Day. If we have confidence in our can-do tradition, we'll be ready to find new answers to our environmental and energy problems and build a healthier, safer future for our children.

Sincerely,

Hillary Rodham Clinton

P.S. For the sake of our future, we must change the direction of America’s energy policy. I will continue to address this important issue. If you are interested in learning more, please click here.

The strategic fund would spur the development and deployment of new energy technologies.

In other words, create a new tax to research something that is already in production. Sorry but Bush has run circles around your party's feeble efforts to develop any form of alternative energy. Maybe read a Wall Street Journal from time to time instead of paying so much attention to your own party's exhaust fumes.

How about by asking Hillie how big a carbon footprint she and Bubba leave, those two limosine libs and Gulfsteram environmentalists extraordinaire.

"We have the National Institutes of Health; why don't we have a National Institute of Energy?"

Brilliant! Well, actually, inane. But brilliant in the manipulative Democrat poltico sense that the "analogy" rings true to idiot voters.

Dear Hillary:
April 21 is dear to me not because of your pinko Earth Day, but because it's San Jacinto Day http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1618834/posts !

"Take a deep, cleansing breath," as Queen Hillary has said. Then say, "More of the same from Vince Foster's dearest friend."

Brink of commercial feasibility? Dumb $itch must have wrote this about thirty years ago.

like wind farms

But not near Martha's Vineyard.

solar energy cells

But not in exclusive neighborhoods of Kennedy, Clinton, Kerry. Too unsightly.

Also, The Beast didn't mention nuclear power.

THIS Saturday, I will do the following: I will overfill my Lawnmover, spilling some gasoline onto Mother Earth. I will then start the lawnmower and cut the entire lawn, spewing fumes and exhaust aplenty. I will rake up the clippings and put them in bags for the landfill. With luck, those plastic bags will not biodegrade unil Year 2344. Next I will cut down about 35 or 40 bamboo trees in teh back yard... some old and already dead, others new and just growing. Those in the very center of the back yard will get a spoonful of gasoline as well, destroying the root system from whence they grew. I will leave beer cans or bottles in various parts of the lawn. I will next get some various ant poisons and assault their favorite homes near the house.
I am open to other suggestions from FReepers.

The funny thing is...there are people who will eat this crap up. If you stuck them right in the middle of a commercial wind farm or biodiesel plant or ethanol plant...they would still eat that crap up. I respect their right to be and remain stupid but at some point you gotta wonder.

"National Institute of Energy?"

I hear the "Minister of Silly Walks" is currently looking for a job. Let him head it, LOL!

Minister: Good morning. I'm sorry to have kept you waiting, but I'm afraid my walk has become rather sillier recently, and so it takes me rather longer to get to work. (sits at desk) Now then, what was it again?

Man: Well sir, I have a silly walk and I'd like to obtain a Government grant to help me develop it.

Minister: I see. May I see your silly walk?

Man: Yes, certainly, yes. (He gets up and does a few steps, lifting the bottom part of his left leg sharply at every alternate pace. He stops.)

Minister: That's it, is it?

Man: Yes, that's it, yes.

Minister: It's not particularly silly, is it? I mean, the right leg isn't silly at all and the left leg merely does a forward aerial half turn every alternate step.

Man: Yes, but I think that with Government backing I could make it very silly.

Continues...

I respect their right to be and remain stupid but at some point you gotta wonder.

There was a limo-lib on a TV talk show a couple of weeks ago (can't remember her name) encouraging everybody to replace there existing incandescent lightbulbs with those screw-in fluorescent ones. She said that if everybody replaced just 5 bulbs, the energy savings would be the equivalent of taking 3 million cars off the road per day.

So I'm thinking, hmmmmmmmm, that might be true.......

But then she kept talking. She said that there were a number of other things that we could do in our homes to reduce energy consumption such as unplugging the toaster, blow-dryer and other appliances when not in use.

Now I'm thinking, what a moron but knowing that there was a million other morons listening to her and jumping up to go unplug their toasters then patting themselves on the back for conserving energy.

And of course, the television interview babe was eating this stuff up.

more greenhouse gases, global warming, rising seas, more violent storms like Katrina.

And they've ALL popped up in the last 5 years, while President Bush was in office.
My gosh, there was no global warming before President Bush.
The seas/oceans were actually getting SMALLER before president Bush. Now they're rising at RECORD levels.
President Bush is directly responsible for bigger storms like Hurricane Katrina.

LET'S BLAME BUSH!!!!
