The Logistics of Backlash

Newt Gingrich was on Fox News Sunday last weekend, pointing out some obvious things. "The people are sending a message," he said, and Congress -- Republicans and Democrats -- ignored it at their peril. He pointed to the Senate compromise immigration bill as being completely out of touch with the American people. "Border security, a test for citizenship, an English language requirement -- these are 80 percent polling issues."

The Senate, House and White House are seriously confused about what is at issue and what is at stake here.

The issue of a guest worker program is completely separate from the issue of illegal aliens.

We have a guest worker program. It may need to be reformed but illegal aliens are those who have not applied to be guest workers. There are 11 million of them. (or more) The only thing needing reform now concerns illegal aliens and border security. We need to enforce the existing laws respecting the presence and employment of illegal aliens and border security.

Border security is the number one problem in this debate. The flood of illegal aliens is a major factor in relation to our lack of border security but it is only one factor. There is also a matter of national security in a time of war and in an age when terrorists have set their sights on inflicting mass destruction on our society.

After the issues of border security and millions of illegal foreign nationals on our soil the matter of guest workers is very small. Until the first two problems are thoroughly and firmly addressed the guest worker issue should not even be discussed.

The President the Senate and the House need to get that message with unambiguous resolve.

Border security! No employment for illegal aliens!

Immigration and a guest worker program are separate issues from the above.

Now is the time to put the pressure on!

I have been covering, psuedo-blogging, for years, a couple of the elements in WWIV ( III being the Cold War ), in which we find ourselves engaged.

What is happening under the radar is that the alien lobby, certain elements of radical Islam, and some on the Left share common goals, tactics, and exploitations of our system and society.

Not a conspiracy, but rather a "coming together on common points." A confluence- becoming a tsumani...

A push-back is already occuring. Just ask people you know around you.

Here in south Georgia, it's been apparent, and growing stronger, for years.

As usual, and typical, the Drive-By Media has been oblivious to it, and carefully silent, hoping not to rock the boat, but talk radio has been buzzing about illegal immigration for years.

It started off in the late nineties on a high note- "hard working, proud, religious, honest," were words frequently bandied about.

Then, my small city started having rashes of "uninsured motorists who ran away from wrecks" incidents, and the tone- at least on radio- started becoming more skeptical about the wonders of unrestricted, uncontrolled, and probably illegal, immigration. Crime and falling property values have become recent subjects.

The politicians and the drive-by media remain mum- the man on the street has known better for some time.

Interesting photos. Personally I am glad I live in the US, not Europe. I much prefer smiling Mexicans who just want a job so they can feed their families, to murderous Muslims who want to kill non Muslims and force the world to live under Sharia law.

Of course neither the US or Europe would be facing these problems if we hadn't made abortion so easy and if the middle class hadn't decided that having more than two children was more trouble than it was worth. If the US and Europe had birth rates comparable to Arabs or Mexicans we would be taking over their countries instead of vice versa.
