Former Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry said on Thursday he was seriously thinking about another White House bid in 2008 and will decide before the year is out.
"I will make that decision toward the end of the year, but I'm thinking about it hard," Kerry said in response to a question at the Latin Economic Forum at the United Nations.
"If you can get help me find 60,000 votes in Ohio ...," he joked, referring to the close race in that state on which his 2004 loss to President Bush hinged.
Kerry, a U.S. senator from Massachusetts, has criticized Bush on a range of issues, particularly the war in Iraq.
On Thursday, he focused on Latin America, saying Bush lost interest in the region after the September 11 attacks.
"Relations between the United States and Latin America today are at their lowest point since the end of the Cold War," Kerry said.
Other Democrats seen as potentially seeking the nomination include U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner and Kerry's former running mate, John Edwards.
John Kerry is Jerry Lewis compared to Hilary.
Start stocking up on the orange pancake makeup flip-flop. Maybe some cosmetic company will change the name of your choice in colors. Flip-Flop Fling or something.
I was close, now what about Wisconsin, did we lose that
As for me, I would vote for a dead skunk before I would vote for John F. Kerry, (D-Hanoi).
He is still a disgrace and should just now, be getting out of jail.
That nincompoop wont even get past the primaries, unless the lineup includes the rev. al, mosely-braun, kucinich and other such luminaries again.
I havent met one democrat who really believed in KERRY per se, and wasnt just voting for the party ticket.
Actually, Al did okay with his concession speech. However, since then, I think losing the presidency has severed whatever moorings to sanity his mind had. Granted, I think that rope was rather frayed to begin with.
I encourage Kerry to go for it ... Bwahahahaahahahha!
After what happened in Florida in 2000, the main stream media jumped on Ohio as the state which had voting irregularities. I remember how CNN sent Soledad O'Brien on a red eye flight to Columbus, Ohio, so she could anchor the start of CNN's coverage of the expected Ohio recount/lawsuits on the morning after the election. Fortunately Bush had such a big margin in Ohio that the recounting shenanigans didn't change the outcome.
Glutton for Punishment.
you mean the "immaculate concession"?
There are so many Anti-Bush Freepers here that I'm guessing they would rally around ole JFKerry. If they have their way, he will be Prez. Did I mention he served in Vietnam?
It takes a few months for that one annual thought to pop in there.
