Tony Snow offered White House Job
Heard on the John Gibson radio program
Posted on 04/18/2006 5:48:13 PM PDT by yellowdoghunter
I just heard on the John Gibson radio program that Tony Snow has been offered McClellan's job at the White House. He has not made a decision but will discuss it on his radio program tomorrow.
I didn't see this posted. Just posting what I heard. No link.

But Snow could "slide it" to Helen Thomas a bit more deftly than Gibson...she'd be screwed (shudder) and not even know it.

My guess is that McClellan has already tendered his resignation in order to work on his mother's campaign. She needs some help. She hasn't even qualified for the Texas ballot yet. Not that she stands a snowball's chance, anyhow.

We all need to stop shaking our snowglobes and take a deep breath.
Tony and his family have been through the ringer. I think it's safe to say that he is, first and foremost, a FAMILY MAN. He won't do anything to put himself or his family on the line, especially since he's now well down the road of recovering from cancer.
Sure, I'll desperately miss his radio show and seeing him on Fox. We'll all wish him well, but this decision will be what's best for Tony AND his family.
Either way, Tony, you know we'll be pulling for you!

I still miss Ari, can't stand McClellan, love Tony Snow... is he maybe too good/big for the job?
My vote? Donald Rumsfeld, or a carbon copy clone.

I guess we will find out tomorrow. Whatever happened, McClellan will now have to announce his resignation - tomorrow.Only if this story escapes the confines of FR and is picked up by at least Drudge or a few newspapers.
Which it will, but it might not be in a day.
Reporters are generally into their fourth scotch on the rocks this time of day.

I once saw Snow on the comedy special they have in DC where inside inside the Beltway types perform. Tony was amazingly good.

Tony Snow is one of the few actual journalists FOX News has. The rest are just muckrakers. It'd be a tragedy for FOX to lose him - but I think he'd be a huge asset to the Bush administration.
