Some more reports about high oil prices are posted
here I suggest people take their digital cameras with them when they venture out on the nation's roads. It's easy to take photos of price gouging stations. Contact the Federal Trade Commission with your
complaints. Post your digital evidence and reference your photo url in your complaint form.

President George W. Bush said on Tuesday he is "concerned" about high gasoline prices, and pledged that the U.S. government will keep a close watch out for profiteering. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Little late to be complaining....they told us last year that the gas prices would reach $3.00 a gallon by this summer....all due to Katrina....which I think is BS....
We need to quit driving for a week, or not buy gas for a week and try to shut this thing down....only way to get a point across is hit em in the pocket book....

Build more refineries, build nuclear power plants, drill ANWAR, kill the mullahs = lower oil prices.

Any bets on as the prices at the pump get higher, W's poll numbers drop even further? What do we suppose will happen in November if prices are 4 or 5 dollars a gallon in August? I think someone, maybe the President himself should use the argument, "Well in Europe they are paying...."
Yeah. That's gonna be interesting.

It's easy to take photos of price gouging stations. When you buy stock in the stock market and eventually sell it at a profit, aren't you "price gouging?"
Exactly what do you think the free market is all about?
Countries that attempt to control prices are ALWAYS economic disasters with stores with cheap prices but empty shelves.
Would you rather have no gas at a really cheap price, or enough gas to conduct your business at whatever price the market dictates at the time and place you need it?

Yes, sure, right on the job Bush. Let us see now, yes, that is about right. Gotta be careful what we say about those big donors. And of course, either never, or at least three years after the fact, say something about it.
Just like illegal immigration and open borders.
Nice try Bush.

Prices for oil are set on the world market, not U.S. Are those people calling for U.S. governmental "control" of prices suggesting a unilateral U.S. takeover of oil markets?

The worst gouging going on is the government taxation of motor fuels.

"The government has the responsibility to make sure that we watch very carefully and investigate possible price-gouging, and we will do just that," Bush said Bull Sh*t, George. The government has no such thing. Stand aside and let the free market work; you can only make things worse by meddling.
If I wanted this sort of idiotic kindergarten economics from the mouth of my President, I'd have voted for Kerry.

the only price gouging going on is the price of an NBA ticket, about 50 dollars for the nose bleed seats and more for everything else.

I feel that we are being gouged. Two or three weeks ago, there was an article about the oil problem that said the huge increases now being foistered upon us are done on the assumption that the gulf area will be hit by one or more Katrinas. Prices are rising so fast that it would be easy for those involved to slip in a few extra pennies and no one would be the wiser. My question is this: what if we escape a replay of last year's hurricane season? Will the price at the pump be reflective of that? Something tells me the prices will fall MUCH slower than the current shuttle launch type increases. Time will tell

"The government has the responsibility to make sure that we watch very carefully and investigate possible price-gouging, and we will do just that," Bush said in unprompted remarks about energy prices.Compared to government gouging, the oil companies are on welfare! The gas tax is a whopping 43 cents per gallon!!!!
If the Washington politicians were really concerned about gas gouging, they'd take a good, long look in the frigging mirror!
The politicians are bringing in big bucks for vote buying, and no one is even noticing!
To: ex-Texan
Maybe they could watch for illegals instead.

Politicians on both sides of the aisle are paid off by the oil barons. They will not do squat. I am curious though. Why would Exxon not use the 400 million on researching alternative fuels investing in a refinery etc? But instead they spent 400 million on a retirement package.
To be sure they would want to help out US consumers.
