First Knights Templar are discovered

LONDON: The first bodies of the Knights Templar, the mysterious religious order at the heart of The Da Vinci Code, have been found by archaeologists near the River Jordan in northern Israel.
British historian Tom Asbridge yesterday hailed the find as the first provable example of actual Knights Templar.
The remains were found beneath the ruined walls of Jacob's Ford, an overthrown
castle dating back to the Crusades, which had been lost for centuries.
They can be dated to the exact day -- August 29, 1179 -- that they were killed by Saladin, the feared Muslim leader who captured the fortress.
"Never before has it been possible to trace their remains to such an exact time in history,' Mr Asbridge said. "This discovery is the equivalent of the Holy Grail to archaeologists and historians. It is unparalleled."

Not to hijack this thread since you mentioned Scotland. I visited Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness once. It’s a preservation area. Nobody knows who built it. Was it built by one of the old Clans? That fiord has good fish in it and is a fine swimming hole. After hanging your clothes on the berry bushes and climb over some rocks. The air and water temp is the same there. I proved that Nessie isn’t interested in biting pee-pees off.
Why not? When you plan to go somewhere, at least study where you are when you get there. I was in a haunted place in Toledo, Spain and in Edinborough, Scotland. Spirits are there and have very limited influence on the physical plane. Just go in, check it out and leave. You just feel cold. And don't make the ghosts mad.

That must be the place about 3 miles down the road where they sell tourist stuff. They must have expanded. If somebody got smart, they would open a fish and chips restaurant there. And buy the trawler with the nets that runs around collecting fish. Loch Ness is a very huge and deep lake. Larger than Lake Mead in Nevada.

We traveled by train in Europe once and we saw nothing! The train was either in a ditch , behind a wall or a hedge. Nope, rent a car, get a map and see the country, stay at small hotels in small towns and you meet people. Ask those people where to eat and what to see and you have an adventure not just a guide book experience.

You are 1/4 right. What you have to do is first get a map of Europe. Then plan where you want to go. All those cities from south to north and back. This is done in advance, not off the cuff. It takes planning. As to how much time you wish to spend in each city or country. Then create a schedule. Then find the train schedule from point-to-point. And the ferry schedules too, depending upon which countries you want to travel between and from where. Then you can get on the net now and reserve hotels or bed-and breakfasts for your arrival times in all those places you choose.
You have limited time in each place like this, so you use it the best. And you have a chance to meet people that live away from big cities and see how they are doing. They will enjoy your interest to talk and meet.
I had the pleasure of seeing everything between Alicante, Spain and Dunvegan, Scotland and come back in a month. Just nice people. And we travelled through 9 countries. Fast. No aircraft. And not much rest.
And First Classe trains and ferries because we planned it months before doing it! Try it:)
