Question for conservatives who vote for Republican candidates every few years because the Republicans are the "lesser of two evils." P>
How is your voting strategy working out?
Since "conservative" Republicans have taken over the House of Representatives 11 years ago, the expansion of government has continued at every level. Nothing has been done to stop the holocaust of abortion. Gay marriage under the guise of "civil unions" is becoming a norm in our society. Our government continues in its Wilsonian tradition of globe-trotting and nation-building with the precious blood of American soldiers fertilizing the subjected nations, making them "safe for democracy."
Nothing has been done to deter the invasion of over 10 million illegal immigrants across our southern border. Taxation as a percentage of income is at record levels. Federal and state government debts are at record levels. The middle class of the American citizenry have the boot of the government planted squarely on their necks and continue to shoulder much of the monetary burden that keeps our corrupt governments breathing.
Conservative voters, I ask you again...How is your voting strategy working out? Have the "lesser" of evils advanced your agenda? (I really don't believe that this "evil" is lesser at all...but is merely a different flavor of evil. Much like choosing between strawberry or chocolate ice cream...the underlying substance is the same with the only difference being the flavor.)
I'm not asking if they have promised to advance your agenda (because I know their rhetoric).
I'm asking, "What has the Republican Party done for you and your cause?"
Words without actions are MEANINGLESS.
To use a quote from one of my all-time favorite superheroes in one of my all-time favorite movies (Batman Begins), "It's not what you are underneath that matters, but what you do that defines you."
In politics, it's not what you SAY that matters...but what you will DO once elected to office...
Until there is a paradigm shift in the thinking of conservatives, our nation will continue slouching toward certain destruction...Until there is a revolution in the minds and thought processes of dyed-in-the-wool conservatives who regularly vote Republican, there will be no legitimate change in our nation's course...Until the conservatives arise from their mental dormancy and slumber, our nation will continue to creep toward certain judgment.
Conservative brothers and sisters...OPEN YOUR EYES!
Cowboy those morons in the GOP Senate need to taste some pain in 06.
LOL!! I don't believe there are but a handful of Constituion Party candidates on the ballot in Texas.
Oh, and Kinky Friedman is of no party (and is running for governor as a stunt to please his Central Park buddies on the IMUS show.)
"If we go and vote for Republicans in this election, then they will think that their liberalism and/or spinelessness is condoned."
Very well said. Seems to if the Republicans don't shed a lot of blood they don't learn a damn thing.
Hey you shoulda sent em some pesos :)
I tell them that everytime they want more money.
When they start flying airplanes into our buildings, murdering thousands and telling us they are intent on taking over the world, making Europe a new Caliphate and pushing Israel into the sea, the idea is wrong.
As for this history, yes, that is wrong as well.
In 1801, Madison was appointed Secretary of State by the new president, Jefferson. James Madison as Sec. of State guided the negotiations that resulted in the Louisiana Purchase (1803) and supported American suppression of the Barbary pirates in the Tripolitan(1803-05).
Following the war with Tripoli, the United States ordered its Navy ships in the Mediterranean to return home. Conflict with England was heating up and finally exploded in the War of 1812. By this time, a new dey, Omar, had taken over in Algiers. He ordered the capture of American merchant ships because of overdue U.S. tribute. President Madison responded by getting Congress to authorize military action against Algiers in February 1815. He sent a squadron of nine warships to end Barbary tribute. Reference.
This is how the onstitution party stars winning, they get votes. They have mine, the respendicans have not earned it.
One battle at a time. As if this half-baked Constitutional party will do anything about it.
The American voter doesn't want "smaller" government. If it did, that's what politicians would deliver.
Do you honestly believe this? The politicians from both entrenched major parties don't give a damn what people want. They just want to be elected, and will say anything to achieve this. Once they are there they can just rely on their incumbancy status and tell people that their opponents will eat their children if they aren't re-elected. The only way politicians will deliver is if they are seriously made to realize that they will be thrown out on their butts regardless of whether or not there is an 'R' or a 'D' beside their name. Voting the party line will NOT accomplish this.
What has changed since 1994?
How does not voting for Republicans help to tip that equation in favor of a conservative majority in the Supreme Court in the future?
McPain, Rudy, and Romney are all pro infanticede. No difference from rats.
My strategy is I'll vote Republican because the dims are worse. Its not a long term plan I admit, as at the moment we seem headed in the same direction, just slower. Where the government will increasingly be a redistributor of wealth, until it eventually goes bankrupt.
I think we have to question the most fundamental thing.. unrestrained democracy. Want to empower the states? Let the governors appoint senators.
I vote Republican and got Tancredo and Owens for Gov. Owens is 75% a Republican and 25% "What the Hell was he thinking."
When I say international entanglements, I am talking about the UN, NATO, NAFTA, G8, etc. Avoiding international entanglements in no way means not defending ourselves from foreign aggression.
I will vote Hildabeast before McCain.
What has GW given us or wants to give us:
CFR
Runaway spending
medicare pill bill
amnesty
Meet why I support the Constitution Party.
Bingo! People will always vote themselves a free lunch. Name a democracy on earth where the government isn't growing larger each year.
Don't sit out '06, it's the best time to make your voice heard! You must absolutely vote '06. The House is doing a great job, the Senate sucks a big one. It's essential, Vote '06!!
I guess you also want to cut and run in the War on Terror?
