How is Your Voting Strategy Working Out?
Constitution Pary ^ | 11-02-2005 | John Leone - Candidate for New Jersey State Assembly

Posted on 04/16/2006 1:52:39 PM PDT by rodeocowboy

Question for conservatives who vote for Republican candidates every few years because the Republicans are the "lesser of two evils." P>

How is your voting strategy working out?

Since "conservative" Republicans have taken over the House of Representatives 11 years ago, the expansion of government has continued at every level. Nothing has been done to stop the holocaust of abortion. Gay marriage under the guise of "civil unions" is becoming a norm in our society. Our government continues in its Wilsonian tradition of globe-trotting and nation-building with the precious blood of American soldiers fertilizing the subjected nations, making them "safe for democracy."

Nothing has been done to deter the invasion of over 10 million illegal immigrants across our southern border. Taxation as a percentage of income is at record levels. Federal and state government debts are at record levels. The middle class of the American citizenry have the boot of the government planted squarely on their necks and continue to shoulder much of the monetary burden that keeps our corrupt governments breathing.

Conservative voters, I ask you again...How is your voting strategy working out? Have the "lesser" of evils advanced your agenda? (I really don't believe that this "evil" is lesser at all...but is merely a different flavor of evil. Much like choosing between strawberry or chocolate ice cream...the underlying substance is the same with the only difference being the flavor.)

I'm not asking if they have promised to advance your agenda (because I know their rhetoric).

I'm asking, "What has the Republican Party done for you and your cause?"

Words without actions are MEANINGLESS.

To use a quote from one of my all-time favorite superheroes in one of my all-time favorite movies (Batman Begins), "It's not what you are underneath that matters, but what you do that defines you."

In politics, it's not what you SAY that matters...but what you will DO once elected to office...

Until there is a paradigm shift in the thinking of conservatives, our nation will continue slouching toward certain destruction...Until there is a revolution in the minds and thought processes of dyed-in-the-wool conservatives who regularly vote Republican, there will be no legitimate change in our nation's course...Until the conservatives arise from their mental dormancy and slumber, our nation will continue to creep toward certain judgment.

Conservative brothers and sisters...OPEN YOUR EYES!

OK, again. Good luck to you again. Sorry, I just can't get excited over this stuff any more. Holding a broad-based coallition of voters together is always a difficult proposition. I regret the loss of strong Conservative influences in the Republican party and now accept the fact that in the near future there will probably be fewer conservatives running or even participating in the Government.

Not even close.

That sums your results, as well.

I will not be sitting it out I will be supporting the Constitution party.

It's pretty unlikely that the Constitution Party will qualify for the Texas ballot in November, so the odds are quite high that you will be sitting it out.

You forgot to tell the GOP faithful to take off their blinders and pull the GOP filters out of their ears.

I've been mugged by so called compassionate conservatives and I will no longer support them.

Thanks for a great article. It's right on target and will get the squealers out in full blather.

Write in vote then.

You may be out of luck again there. In Texas, write-in votes are not counted unless the candidate has become a "qualified" write-in candidate and has already submitted the appropriate petition or paid the filing fee.

AFter the 1993 tax increase, we took back the House. Then we took back the Senate. All the while, the GOP was on it's knees to conservatives promising that great things would happen for us once we took the WH. So we gave them that as well and great things have happened, but not for us.

This so called Republican administration has been absolutely dismal for liberty in this country, while spending us into oblivion and not protecting the borders.

Yeah, we tried your strategy. You had your chance. You didn't even try to live up to your promises. And that's why so many people are angry with the GOP.

And yet they still think that 'we' have no place to go and make no effort to change. Are they blind and stupid or do they just not care. Maybe losing will make them care. Maybe not. But I won't reward anyone who attacks my liberty with my vote.

So what you are saying is that once you lowered your standards and lowered your expectations of Republicans, you got complacent and will accept whatever they allow you to keep of your liberty.

Haven't you noticed that what you are 'getting' is a continually lower percentage of what are your God given rights?

You're a 'hitman' only because you are taking the hits.

Republicans are anti-Abortion, Democrats are pro-Abortion, just to mention one issue.

That's just plain BS.

There are a lot of pro abortion pubbies. And guess what? Mr Pro Life Rick Santorum works to elect pro abortion candidates. So does the GOP Senate and Hose reelection groups. So does the RNC.

Some Republicans are pro life and hold to their principles, but to make a blanket statement is foolishly wrong.

Where are aall of the conservative bills coming out of Congress now? We've had control of both houses.

Who gave us the Kennedy Education Bill?

Who gave us McCain Feingold?

Who gave us the multi billion dollar drug bill?

Who gave us the PATRIOT Act?

Who gave us the smallest and only tax cuts that were scheduled to be phased out?

Who has refused to do anything about illegal immigration?

I know. Reelect them one more time with a greater majority and then they'll really, really do some good stuff.

In my estimation, the time (the only time) where you can send a message is in the primaries. Casting a "protest" vote in the general elections gets you Klintoon. After the primaries, the best course is to vote for the candidate in one of the electable parties (currently GOP or dims) and then hound whoever is elected for the duration of their term demanding that they provide more support for your policy positions.

IMHO protest votes in the general elections are a guarantee of disaster.

Why do you have such distain for a party and people who support the Constitution?

To call it the Constipation Party speaks more towards your own ignorance and disrespect than anything else.

Does the Republican Party defend and protect the Constitution?

Take your insults for patriots elsewhere.

That said, I'd vote for Rudy over McCain anyday.

Lemme see if I understand your priorities.

Since the deaths of Americans on 9/11, including the tragic loss of our troops, less than 6,000 Americans have died in this war on terror (which I strongly support).

Since 9/11/ 2001, is it safe to say that over 3 million babies have been brutally ripped from the womb and thrown into the garbage?

And you would support a man who supports that terror?

Neither of those 2 so called Republicans are worth the powder to blow them to Hell.
