I for one am breathing a sigh of relief a little bit. It appears that there will be a good chance that no violent protest will happen.

Violent protests have already happened. Illegal aliens have attacked the police in San Antonio, Texas. A counter demonstrator was knocked to the ground and beaten by an illegal alien in Portland(?).

The only question is whether they will spread.

Oh whatever. I have some knowledge of this issue. It amazes me. I probally agree with the concerns and many of the proposed solutions of even the most ardent anti "invader" folks. I have a huge concern about illegal immigration and security. But any talk of compromise to this is viewed as the ultimate political heresy by some. I repeat some not all.
