Time Magazine announced Wednesday that its Canadian news bureau would close on April 28th, a significant pullback for the popular newsweekly, which has long maintained a Canadian presence and published a Canadian edition of the magazine. The decision was attributed to financial pressure on the magazine stemming from difficulties in mother company Time Inc., which has recently announced several rounds of layoffs
"...a significant pullback for the popular newsweekly..."
If it's so popular why is it closing up shop? Let's correct this -
Time Magazine announced Wednesday that its Canadian news bureau would close on April 28th, a significant pullback for the newsweekly, a magazine that's very popular among a smattering of left wing kooks who would need a map to find an original thought.

Does Time have a French language version for the Quebecers ?
The way most people die is by the failure of the organic components. One by one they go....the kidneys, the liver , the heart. They shut down and the body lives until zap.....it's over.
Time Warner is failing, one organ at a time. Pretty soon Zap!!
I'm preparing a piece now for my Blog....CNN is no longer Main Stream Media.

Probably closed it because the Canadians elected a Conservative government, and from TIME's point of view, that means there'll be no news of worth out of Canada.
The purpose of this bureau was to help sell mags and ads in Canada by giving the magazine a slight Canadian tint to it. Occasionally a Canada only cover and story would happen but on the whole the magazine was close to the same as the US edition except for the ads and minor Canadian section. The only reason I can imagine they would close the bureau was that it wasn't earning its way anymore. My dad used to subscribe to Time back in the 1960s and 70s until he passed away. I occasionally bought a copy that interested me but probably none since I have been on FR.
They changed strategies a few years back and just made the whole magazine leftist, anti-American bilge. So, it now is suitable for sale to people all over the world (some in Canada included) who hate the ideas of capitalism, freedom and personal responsibility that are conjured up when thinking of America.
Newspaper sale$ decline should be blamed on the Journos

People who work at journalism full time ought to be able to do a better job of it than people for whom it is a hobby. But that's not going to happen as long as we "professional" journalists ignore stories we don't like and try to hide our mistakes. We think of ourselves as "gatekeepers." But there is not much future in being a gatekeeper when the walls are down.
Morning giggle. Thank you. :-)
Yeah. The only place I see TIME anymore is in waiting rooms.
