I know how you feel.
Both my Senators(Martinez and Nelson) wrote and signed on to long editorials about how we should not drill in the Gulf. We have a long way to go to convince those who are so politically motivated to do the right thing for the sake of the country.
Enjoy your brunch and Happy Easter.
There have been disputes between Generals and the CIC in the past, even Jimmy Carter fired Singlaub. However, can you ever recall flag officers being trotted on stage at a nominating convention to act as props for a candidate? Or a group of generals and career diplomats signing a public petition calling for the incumbent President not to be reelected and stating that the administration "justified the invasion of Iraq by manipulation of uncertain intelligence about weapons of mass destruction, and by a cynical campaign to persuade the public that Saddam Hussein was linked to Al Qaeda and the attacks of September 11?"
36 HOURS UNTIL JACK BAUER BEATS UP THE TERRORIST AGAIN!LOL
Right on anita. They are acting like they care but it's still all politics, all the time. Old media and the left claim they are trying to make it better, but they disguise their real intent of disrupting the military to get political points to use in elections.
There's a BIG difference between Democrats invading Haiti, or the forced humanitarian aid actions under Clinton and actually winning a war in Afghanistan and Iraq. There are good reasons old Democrat generals are no longer in the military. They just keep forgetting what they are.
Congratulations! You had quite a day last Sunday, taking no prisoners. It was a beautiful thing to see. You are usually very good, but now you seem to have more of a spirit behind you. I can guess why......Congratulations on your new Faith, it really shows.
Thanks snugs and good morning.
Coming up, the first segment on "Sunday Morning" (CBS):
"Teaching the Bible, without preaching the Bible." (In public schools).
Forgot the name of the reporter.
'BIG TIME'... Happy Easter snugs.
Thanks :0)
Here 's this sunday's Media Nuggets
###### What goes around, comes around -> Raylena Fields - African American producer of 13 years at CBS News, is suiing CBS for her termination at EEOC saying that her firing is racially motivated and accuses Bob Schieffer is bigoted. [Remember how media spun Katrina & Race?]
###### NYTimes leads newspaper $hortfalls. -> NYTimes is leading other media companies, like - Tribune Co., McClatchy Co., Knight Ridder, Gannett & Journal Register Co. - to widening slump in the nation's newspaper profits.
###### Transparency is for everyone, but not for media guns like Russert or Couric, who are fighting a proposed SEC rule that would demand them to publish their salary details. Viacom argues that such data should remain as trade secret.
###### Viveca Novak, famed Time reporter who tipped Karl Rove's lawyer about Matt Cooper officially resigned taking a buy-out from the mag.
###### Couric's departure sent jitters at NBC which ended as a jackpot to Matt Lauer with NBC extending his contract upto 2011 with 13 million annual pay.
###### CNN is looking for Larry King replacement. Starting from May 8 Glenn Beck will be on HLN at 7pm and 9pm. If he come close to H&C, CNN will replace Larry with Glenn.
###### Many old-media execs are making "frantic moves" on the Web, out of recognition that they "must do something to salvage their failing roles and their diminishing and distracted audiences." [Little bit of Truth would help a long way.]
###### NBC decided to close the "The West Wing" due to falling ratings. Dems begged it's "acting president"- Martin Sheen to contest Ohio senate seat. He declined saying - "You're mistaking celebrity for credibility."
###### GE burned by profits drop at NBC and trailing last in networks ratings war. GE may seek to spin-off the media unit as NBC became a liability than asset.
###### Tabloids Star and National Enquirer are looking for buyers.
###### Print edition of Elle Girl magazine folds, keeping the online edition only.
###### Christian Science Monitor's publisher sells it's real estate. Mag's washington bureau in turmoil and could fire many. Media hype of Jill Carrol got NOTHING.
###### NYTimes sells the newspaper group's 50 percent stake in digital cable channel Discovery Times.
###### CNN is selling it's 14-story tower in L.A which includes Larry King studio. It will continue there, paying rent.
I actually think this is close to the same treatment that President Lincoln had but on a proportional scale.
Update on the job offer-I wasnt able to accept it. When I explained why, the HR person said that they really would like to try again in September, when their next class will start. She even went as far st to say we will call you. Hopefully, we will have our house here in STL taken care of..
End of an era Elle folding do you know if this goes for Europe as well.
LOL!!
