There are so many dumb senators. It's hard to choose.

Unfortunately, not ALL of them are democrats.

just finished watching Stephy's show...and I will comment on it in a bit...but, at the end, he said his guests next week are:

For the Republicans (his words)--Arnold Schwarzenegger, and for the Democrats, John F'n Kerry (my middle name for him inserted).

Oh Lord... spare us.

I stand duly corrected there may have been a "tie" for the dumbest Senator of all time.

Little Billy Cwistal is one of those Conservative Intellectual wannabes who attends all the "right" parties. To fit in with the intellegencia he bashes Bush. You can bet that even libs snicker behind his back for lack of conviction. He would make a fine Republican Senator.

I'm sure Bush listens to what he says.

Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighter

Nobody does that for me now.

Well. FR is a poor substitute for a sister. But, we do our best to uplift each other.

Christ is risen from the dead! Trampling down death by death! And upon those in the tombs, bestowing Life!
Thou didst descend into the tomb, O Immortal.
Thou didst destroy the power of death.

In victory didst Thou arise, O Christ God, proclaiming "Rejoice" to the myrrh-bearing women, granting peace to Thy Apostles, and bestowing resurrection on the fallen.

I've taken a vow of silence. Like my other vows, this one is often broken.

The problem is Nobody likes me. In my own (Episcopal) church, no one likes me because I am an Evil Conservative (in a liberal church). No one likes me because I argue constantly with our dear Bible teacher who is so liberal he doesn't think men should be allowed to be priests or bishops, unless, of course, they are gay.

When I get on the conservative Episcopal forum, no one likes me because I think women priests are okay (if it is a true vocation and not political) and because I don't worship the 1928 prayer book.

And because I think modern Bibles are okay and that it is not necessary to carry around a big floppy black Bible (King James) like Jesus always carried around.

And Clinton, too, I might add.

That's AlGore when he was in VietNam. He never talked about it as much as Kerry. But, he was there. A journalist, of some sort, after he washed out of Divinity School at Vanderbilt.

Why can't Fla. find a smart Republican that can beat him.

That is a very complex question. I defer to the wisdom of samantha on that one.she knows Harris and could answer it better than I.

One this I do know is that Harris does have an mba from Harvard, that should put her in the smart category but somehow you just don't hear many positive attributes about her campaign, can't figure that one out?

"Clamp down on employers who hire them and the illegals will deport themselves"

Find it interesting how "Conservatives" have suddenly adopted the rabid anti Business talking points of the Big Govt Socialist types.

As someone who has spent time in the 3rd world, nonsense. You will have to physically stop them. Living here on the under the table economy is still better then about 90% of the world lives with daily. No amount of disincentives will stop them coming here. It is our wealthy, secure life style that brings them. We will physically have to stop them from coming here. No amount of "disincentives" will stop them. That is just wishful thinking.

BTW, Newts all done. He has slipped into McCain mode. He has started mouthing the PC Junk Media talking points. That may win him press time, it does not win him any votes with the Republican party base. Bye bye Newt, thanks for playing

Clamp down on employers

The reason Bush gets so much criticism (rightfully so) over illegal immigration is because the situation has nothing to do with legislation - it's all about enforcement, which is the purview of the Executive. Bush's failure to exercise hid duly granted authority is the primary reason we find ourselves in this predicament.

We don't need a new congressional bill - we simply need Bush to (a) have the IRS begin enforcement from a tax withholding basis, (b) have the DOJ begin enforcement from a employment perspective, and (c) move more resources to border patrol.

'A' alone would cause huge waves through the employment ranks. Siccing the IRS on employers with 2x withholding backtax bills + fines & penalties would really make them sit up and take notice. The key thing is it could be done tomorrow: the IRS has the computers; they have every employer ID number; they have sales/expense stats to impute headcount; they have mailing addresses; they have mailing system/forms.

20 million warning letters could be going out next week putting chills down the spine of every employer hiring illegals.

I think Harris problem is there is a "Get her" payback wing of the Junk media who blame her for Gore losing in 2000. They have been all over her from day one. Even some Freepers have been going out of their way to bad mouth her. Not real sure what they think that accomplishes. Doesn't sound like anyone is waiting in the wings to run.

I think all of these generals and captains and whoever, that are jumping out of the woodwork, are just a sign that the "game plan" that the DNC came up with, weeks before the Easter break, is coming to fruition.

They PLANNED on pushing for ex-military to complain about the war and Bush Administration.

BTW...The last line that George Will said on This Week with Stephy, was, "in one of the books just out about the war in Iraq, the very, very first American serviceman to die in Iraq was shot by a 'young Iraqi' in a TOYOTA pickup, THAT should have told them THEN they made a mistake"...(paraphrased, emphasis mine)....

IOW...George Will has declared that by the very first death in Iraq, Rumsfeld and Bush should have CHANGED COURSE, and/or stopped the war...pfffffffft

Nice of you to show up today!

;-)

by the way-- nothing ANTI- BUSINESS about going after businesses that break the law in order to cut costs....in fact it is very PRO-BUSINESS!

It supports and rewards the businesses that are legal and ethical....and undercuts the mentality that the libs have about how businesses are abusive and greedy....

and yes- I just SLAMMED YOU AND GOOD TOO!!!

;-) (good think you like me!)

Kristol, like George Will, holds personal hatred of the Bush family. Kristol's goes back to his days in the GHWB White House as Dan Quayle's chief of staff. He thought he should be in charge (of everything, not just Quayle's stuff), not Bush's people, and he's never forgiven them for "not listening to him." He's carried that animus over to GWB, particularly since I think he expected appointement to some high position and I hear he didn't get offered bupkis.

I think Will's dislike for the Bush family predates even the Reagan administration. I don't know what it stems from but it is deep, personal and seems to be passionate and apparently covers the entire family. Maybe it's a baseball thing, though. You don't suppose GWB black balled him for the commissioners job at some point?

Did you catch on CSPAN the discussion at TSU's 'Schieffer School of Journalism' the other night? Bob's convinced the problem stems from the high cost of newsprint.
