Ugh.
The Pentagon has war plans for every conceivable contingency, including Iran. Why does he think we developed bunker busting bombs, nuclear and conventional? Iran has been on the horizon for a long time. Remember when Bush was criticized for his Axis of Evil statement, i.e., Iraq, Iran, and North Korea?
As a retired teacher of the old school, I look in horror at the present day teaching by liberals to impressionable youths....it's environment and political attacks rather than teaching subject matter...English, math, history are falling by the wayside while "feeling good" has become the goal. They don't seem to understand or care that first comes accomplishment, then feeling good about having accomplished something worthwhile.
The comment drive-by media seems to be getting traction according to Rush last week. He played a couple of clips by msm'ers who are not too happy about the term.
It fits nicely IMHO.
Great resume of Don Rumsfeld career whilst I knew odd bits that put flesh on he worked for so and so between such and such.
The Chinese Embassy story is an interesting one. One of the reasons for some of the skeptism about the "Outdated Maps" story, was that even at the height of ineptitude, even a Third World intelligence agency would know where the friggin Communist China Mission was..
Another language another language LOL
Contrast and compare Rumsfeld with Cohen, Clinton's SecDef!!!
It is kind of impossible in that situation because the day belongs to the Happy Couple, but in another setting you might be able to make some good points that you can document. Most people that still believe in Hillary or Slick Willy are in denial and even if they saw them in person doing illegal, unethical, criminal things would not believe their own eyes. Democrats are just so used to being told lies and marching in lockstep that they won't believe you anyway.
Zinni was also involved with the decision to have the USS Cole go into Yemen. After Zinni retired, Powell appointed him as the State Department's special envoy to the Middle East. Zinni was a disaster. He fancies himself as a Middle East expert based on his CENTCOM days. He belonged to the school that we could contain Saddam even after 9/11.
That Lt Col has a different experience than I have. Well over half of the Majors/Lt Cols I've run in to think Rumsfeld has done a mediocre or poor job. And that is from USAF officers - the Army guys I met in Seoul had a much stronger & lower opinion.
And I have NEVER heard anyone call him the "110% Secretary"! I've never even met anyone who could keep a straight face while talking like that - about anyone!
I think the Lt Col is full of...stuff.
I would also point out that none of the 6 calling for Rumsfeld's retirement asked the SCOTUS about Hamdan.
Don't forget Perry and Aspin.
They are to busy playing computer games.
Heres the video, to which the article refers, of Justice Scalias remarks in Switzerland. (Requires Windows Media Player.)

Once again, Scalias the talk of the town

Of course you know it's not cluelessness. What it IS is agenda. If they were actual journalists instead of democrats (liberals, leftists, progressives, whatever), they would have told in their reports just what a percentage of 6 is to 8,700, or even mentioned that there is 8,700 retired stars. And if the president were liberal and the generals conservative, they would have reminded us that 1, 2, and 3 star officers have to have SecDef approval to get the next star, so they're obviously disgruntled. Instead, they're hoping that this will cause an overly busy public to take at face value that even the warriors themselves are opposed to the "debacle" that is Iraq.
Umm....military officers are heavily Republican - maybe 90%. There is nothing to be done about this. It is the inevitable outcome of democrat policies and an all-volunteer force. The hatred democrats have for the US military means that almost none of them will serve as officers.
NBC decided to close the "The West Wing" due to falling ratings. Dems begged it's "acting president"- Martin Sheen to contest Ohio senate seat. He declined saying - "You're mistaking celebrity for credibility."
makes me think he's not as dumb as I thought he was.
As always, the nuggets are great, thanks.
