How does one tell the step-mother of the groom she's an idiot?
@@@@
Ask her what paper/s she reads, or does she listen to NPR, and then silently roll eyes at her answer - as if to say, oh, that explains it.
Secretary of War Stanton (1862-65) was a Democrat originally, but Lincoln appointed him because he was the best man for the job. Lincoln defended Stanton against his critics calling for his replacement stating, "If you will find another secretary of war like him, I will gladly appoint him." Stanton converted to a Rep and was the one who said at Lincoln's death, "Now he belongs to the ages," and lamented, "There lies the most perfect ruler of men the world has ever seen."
Secretary of State Seward (1861-69) directed the arrest of thousands of citizens for sabotage, spying, disruption of the draft, or promoting insurrection. He implemented the suspension of the writ of habeas corpus. I have found no evidence that he expressed any criticism of the President, at least during the war.
At least you go, that's half the battle.
Ohhhh..... I LIKE that! When did he say it? Great line!!!
Brit has it right...says this thing about the generals is old topic discussed in the o4 election...about the number of troops sent in to Iraq. These generals are sore that umpteen divisions weren't used instead of the lean and mean troops which brought down Hussein and set the Iraqi's free. Sour grapes imo that THEY didn't have their way.
BLESS YOU!!
the Torture of families that spew their idiocy and then get offended by anyone DARING to question them.....forcing us to zip it up- because THEY cannnot handle any differing opinion...but WE are intolerant?
Bless you- this kind of torture is worse than McCain will allow us in Gitmo!
oy!
I thought it was Stanton, the Secretary of War, but I've pulled an all nighter with the fans of these six ex-generals.
And he's a right leaning host too!
Brit Hume Kicks Arse !
Newt (on FOX) was reminding everyone that we have civilian leaders over the military. His statement, I thought, succinctly put it that Rumsfeld, not these retired generals, was in charge.
You heard correctly. The Chinese Embassy bombing was no mistake!!!
Not really, it just seems that way at times. Absolutely no one seems to take a weekday (tue-wed-thu) off but opt for a Friday or Monday to coincide with the weekend.
This seemed to be the norm when I was a member of the working class.
Wishing you happy Cadbury Easter Snugs.
Kristol just agreed that Rumsfeld should resign "for the good of the country." Perhaps he doesn't understand that the calls to remove Rumsfeld are just attacks against Bush. They want the resignation before the mid-terms to show that Iraq was mistake and the war isn't going well. It really has nothing to do with Rumsfeld. The same calls were heard for Rumsfeld's head prior to the 2004 election.
Thanks. Actually, I did that too. Also advised them to hold off making any decision until they had more facts. Both said they voted for Ronald Reagan too, which indicated to me they were at least salvagable with the right candidate.
But, it also reinforced our opinion of how the media influences voters too much by reporting bad or misleading news.
oh yeah!
They all are!
BEST SHOW EVER!
April 15, is a holiday where we all celebrate our privilege. of paying taxes!!
