Victoria Clarke was WMAL radio last night, she said that Batise never raised any of these issues in the meetings, not once.
I dont think we have had as good a one since Cheney
I have heard that too.
The actions of these Generals is typical of Dem attacks. Wait until you leave the room or have your back turned then they say things untruthful.
Myers did well today on Tony's show...but, Tommy Franks did even better on Hairball last night with Chrissy Matthews.
Of course Chrissy was accusing Rummy of everything except child abuse...and Tommy wouldn't let him get away with it.
He said that several of the retired generals had been with him while talking to Rummy in the last 4 years..and the NEVER complained to Rummy or him about anything.
34 - four star generals/admirals
124 - three star generals/admirals
278 - two star generals/admirals
439 - one star generals/admirals
Throw in the U.S. Coast Guard and you have 900 (NINE HUNDRED) generals and admirals on active duty today. Roughly 15-20% of these flag officers retired each year.
There are literally thousands of retired generals and admirals...and all they can come up with are six.
The democRATS go from President Bush to Vice President Cheney to Rumsfeld, back to President Bush and over and over and over....
Altho this time they did add Scott the newsman....guess Helen Thomas didn't like his answer when she asked him out.....ROFL....
My guess is that this story will die pretty quickly because these few generals will back off once more generals come out in support of Rummy. They will know they are in the minority and the average american (not the moonbats) will see them for what they are. If I was a betting man, I would say one or more of these six is already regretting opening his mouth.
Just like Kerry getting 12 generals and admirals to support his presidency when Bush had about 300 supporting his. Makes you look pretty stupid.
There certainly seems to be a clear break between the (predominently) two-stars on one side and the three- and four-stars on the other side of this issue. My money's on Franks and Myers being right on this one.
I have to wonder if this is some sort of reporter protectionism. Rummy hit these guys with some zingers lately, basically telling them to get a life. This may be
their way to get back at him.
Dang it, I missed Franks! :( I very rarely watch lardball...

Don't forget General Abizad. He is a four star that supports Rummy. I can also bet he does not other generals saying the military command should be replaced too. These generals are lashing out at the Iraq war chain of command. Not just Rummy.
I know he would never do it but IF I WERE SECRETARY RUMSFELD...I'd recall them to active duty and find some interesting duties for them.
The worst part of all of this is that if we needed them in a crisis right now or in the near future, they most likely would be recalled. Yet, here we have them on the record with these statements. Make you wonder if they would follow military orders, refuse orders and try a military coup, etc.
This stuff happens in banana republics. It should not happen here. It is "unethical" to quote General Myers today.
I imagine there's general agreement among them, as there is on this forum, that some of the decisions made by President Bush and Secretary Rumsfeld, were in fact poor ones--no government has ever fought a war without mistakes. So it's no surprise that there's disagreement.
What's unusual, in my opinion, is the number of general officers who are voicing their criticism openly and publicly, in a manner calculated to dishearten the troops and the civilian populace, and encourage our enemies, both foreign and domestic. I think they are showing exceptionally poor judgement in so doing, and are behaving in a manner unbecoming an officer in the United States military services.
Any retired general officer still has ample means to make his views known to our leaders without publicly criticizing them. The idea, supported by our internal leftist enemies, that criticizing the President and other leaders during a time of war is somehow an act of courage and integrity couldn't be more wrong. It's self-serving, disloyal, and damaging to our troops and to the country.
I'm glad to see General Myers and others coming forward to voice support for the President and Mr. Rumsfeld.
One of the generals that came out said there was no coordinated effort to get Rumsfield by them, but it was just a coincidence that he was coming out now.
Well, Zinni said he had been calling other generals and in contact with them. Therefore, it shows the general that said it was just a coincidence might be lying.
I personally say then, if he might lie about that, why should any of us believe anything he says at this point.

MOST people don't watch Lardball...but I feel it is my duty to watch and report what that idiot is up to.
You should have seen Chrissy's face after being dressed down by Franks...he looked like a kid that got caught doing something wrong...LOL
