A civil liberties group is challenging part of a new state law after an attorney was told he wouldnt be assigned court-appointed cases unless he signed a questionnaire stating he is not a terrorist and does not support terrorism.
The law requires applicants under final consideration for a government job, contract or license to complete and sign questionnaires to determine if they have supported organizations on a federal list of terrorists.
The American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio planned to ask the Ohio Supreme Court on Friday, the day the law takes effect, to exempt court-appointed lawyers from that portion of the statute. The ACLU is arguing that only the Supreme Court - not the Legislature - has jurisdiction over Ohios courts.
Actually this isnt suprising.
In October of 2004, the ACLU turned down $1.15 million in funding from the Ford and Rockefeller Foundations because they objected to promising that none of the funds would be used to engage in any activity that promotes violence, terrorism, bigotry, or the destruction of any state. They got the provision scrapped after a long and vigorous fight, then accepted the funds.
It isnt difficult to understand why the ACLU would object to such terms, after all they are defending numerous terrorists, including an individual that participated in a 15-year conspiracy to finance the group Hamas, laundering millions of dollars, some of which went to buy weapons. With the help of CAIR, they are also defending an admitted agent of Al Qaeda that has confessed to attending jihad camps in Afghanistan, and is being charged with lying to the FBI about his terror ties and activities.

Bind Moggling...
The ACLU is a bastion of hypocrisy. I like how they do whatever they can to silence the free speech of others, but then refuse to put any limit on their own free speech.
The fastest way to upset an ACLU supporter? "You're so angry and unhappy. Being an atheist must be miserable. I'll pray for you."
So the ACLU thinks it would be OK for terrorists to decide Americans fate? Wouldn't all terrorist lawyers fight to behead everyone they bring before the court? The crime would be being an American!
Man, that ACLU is one loony organization.
Note to ACLU:
Supporting a terrorist organization is not free speech.
Free speech would be more along the lines of, say, reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
If the ACLU had to take the oath, they would have to stop 90% of their activility (if they were honest, of course!)
Let us do better, make the law a federal law requiring all states to follow.
I have, long ago, decided that the ACLU has nothing to do with being American or our civil liberties. They should be sued for false advertising.
Now, how silly are these people? The ACLU has lost its moral compass and fallen out of step - looking sillier and sillier every time they come up with something like this.
"It isnt difficult to understand why the ACLU would object to such terms, after all they are defending numerous terrorists, including an individual that participated in a 15-year conspiracy to finance the group Hamas, laundering millions of dollars, some of which went to buy weapons. With the help of CAIR, they are also defending an admitted agent of Al Qaeda that has confessed to attending jihad camps in Afghanistan, and is being charged with lying to the FBI about his terror ties and activities."
Isn't the ACLU just the best...
And why do we keep them here?
(Denny Crane: "I Don't Want To Socialize With A Pinko Liberal Democrat Commie. Say What You Like About Republicans. We Stick To Our Convictions. Even When We Know We're Dead Wrong.")
The ACLU is our enemy, period.
BTTT
enough is enough...
We all know the ACLU is out of control. What in the world can be done? Seems like nothing.
