I hope they indict his *ss before he has a chance to pass Ruth and Aaron - he should retire in ignominy, an asterisk forever next to his records...ditto McGwire and Sosa...

I thought that lying under oath was legalized under the last Presidential Administration.

The guy's gonna have to be poopin' on a parade route while pulling a Budweiser wagon before some of his defenders will admit the truth.

It's never the crime. It's always the coverup.
Were steroids illegal in baseball during the time frame (late 90's - 2003)? If not, then what is he afraid of?
Baseball ceased to be a sport and became a business when the Dodgers left Brooklyn.
Where is that next American farm boy who'll come forward and save this once great past time? Batting over 400 with 100 HR a season all on talent.

Free weights, protein drinks and weight gain could possibly make someone increase/bulk up that much. Nautilus machines wouldn't do it but free weights might.
If he did use steroids they werent the type that were prohibited. Mistake MLB. I say let him play. Even if BB was tossed out years ago, MLB has become a joke with players salaries that its not worth watching like it was up until the 80's, IMO.

Ruth with the Red Sox
Ruth with the Yankees. Looks like he bulked up too. Head size on down. Pictures spanning years mean nothing.

Were steroids illegal in baseball during the time frame (late 90's - 2003)? Was baseball in the U.S.? Because steroids are illegal here.
The rules of the sport should not trump the laws of the land, should players be allowed to fire shots into the crowd every time they pass second base if baseball says it's okay? Granted the only one hurt by Bonds doing steroids is Bonds, the law says they're illegal.

I'm sure Babe Ruth drank during prohibition too. Last time I checked bourbon wasn't a performance enhancing drug.

Looks like he bulked up too. Come on now let's be serious. Ruth didn't bulk up, he got fat. He couldn't even drag his lard*ss around the bases, he HAD to hit homeruns.

If he did use steroids they werent the type that were prohibited. He admitted to using the steroids Victor Conte was jailed for distributing. He did use, and if they weren't illegal why did Conte go to jail for distributing them?
Again, just because baseball says it's okay that does not mean it's no longer a crime in the U.S. to use steroids.

From the last statement of the ESPN article:
"We were not concerned with why he tested positive or how he tested positive except for how that related to his testimony," Davis added.
To: Al Simmons
