I was just looking at Allens website for his senate re-election bid, his philosophy on Government is near perfect!! He has an all American family and his wife just has that first lady look to her which complements George's Presidential leadership 'vibe' Any FReepers know more about allen? Is his name being tossed around for 2008?
The Allen Family (left to right): Forrest, Brooke, Susan, George and Tyler
I really hope he runs and wins. That wife of his would make a BEAUTIFUL first lady and probably the most incredibly beautiful first lady in history. It sure does help that he is conservative too....LOL.
"Sen. George Allen (R-Va.) opposes same-sex marriage but has yet to join his GOP colleagues who have come out in support of the Federal Marriage Amendment

Your source is woefully out of date, and just plain wrong. Three months after that Blade article of yours was published in 2004, Sen. Allen voted for S J Res 40, which prohibits individual states from recognizing marital status and or legal benefits from any other unions other than that of a man and woman.

"Sen. George Allen (R.-Va.) answered that he would not rule out legalizing illegals."
Sen. Allen staunchly opposes any legislation allowing illegal immigrants to achieve citizenship without leaving the country first:
"I don't think we ought to be passing anything that rewards illegal behavior or amnesty. Is that different than the president's position? Apparently so, but I'm going to stick to the principle: First and foremost, we need to secure our borders," he said.
Allen said on This Week, "It may be several years down the road or months down the road - we can get a consensus on how you handle a good temporary worker system."
"We have neglected, as a government, the first responsibility - and that's to secure the border . . . first and foremost, we need to secure our borders."

Face it. You're not going to get a major presidential candidate for 2008 with a stronger stand against illegal immigration. Tancredo said today that he's not running, and Brownback sold out to the Dems on the issue.
Allen ping!
I believe strongly that marriage is the union of one man and one woman. That is why I am a cosponsor of a Marriage Amendment to the Constitution to protect the institution of marriage. -- George AllenStrongly supports the proposed amendment to the Virginia Constitution to protect traditional marriage, which will be on the ballot this November
I think Jackie will likely always hold that title, attractive as Mrs. Allen is.
He will need to clarify this ... but as a Senator he has been solidly pro-life..."

Indeed, Allen only supports legal abortion in the rare cases of incest, rape and when the life of the mother is at risk because of the pregnancy. Together, these special cases account for only 1.3% of all abortions.
Allen opposes partial-birth abourtion and abortions where the fetus is viable, with or without life support.
He opposes public funding of abortions and public funding of organizations that advocate or perform abortions.
He favors waiting periods and notification requirements as decided by each state government.
Senator Allen supported the interests of the NARAL Pro-Choice America 0 percent in 2001 - 2005.
Senator Allen supported the interests of the National Right to Life Committee 100 percent in 2003-2004 and 2001-2002.
1996-2003 Senator Allen supported the interests of the Planned Parenthood (Senate) 0 percent in 1996-2003.
1995-2004 On the votes that the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Assocation considered to be the most important in 1995-2004, Senator Allen voted their preferred position 0 percent of the time.

"I personally think he's going to get trounced in the primaries."
By who?
"Accoding to Americans for Better Immigration there are 19 Seantors with better records on immigration."
And none of them are running for president in '08.
OK, what about #51, how do you answer that? Either the guy is RINO or he isn't. I simply don't know but would like to. Maybe the RINOism in him is just a matter of degree to some here? Did he support the drug handout? How much pork in the transportation & agriculture bills? Others charge taxes went way up when he was gov.
I guess a lot will be debated here in the near future, I'll stay tuned.
I think Jackie will likely always hold that title, attractive as Mrs. Allen is.
Truly I thought of that, but thought that at least Mrs. Allen can give her a run for her money. Just a thought or at least she could be the best looking Republican First Lady either way she is a (so many adjectives to describe, but I will go with a safe one. LOL.) nice looking women.
"Yeah, I was excited about Allen at first, but unfortunately, it turns out he's just another RINO."
You are seriously in need of a clue. Here's one for you: The American Conservative Union rated Sen. Allen a perfect 100 for 2005 and included him in their list of the Senate's Best and Brightest. Only eleven other Senators managed that feat. His lifetime score is a very respectable 92. Contrast that with the 83 ACU gives McCain and the 37 score of Lincoln Chafee, a real RINO. Allen's a solid conservative, and you're misrepresentation of him here is beneath contempt.
Allen seems to be the one most capable of bringing the Reagan message back to the Presidency. Tancredo may be right about immigration, but a one-issue candidate does not a President make. I think Allen is probably a centrist at heart. That doesn't necessarily make him a RINO.
By most everybody... not the least will be the media.
I will support Allen, Pence, Tancredo, Romney...whomever (yeah , even McPain) wins the Nomination.
Otherwise, you can kiss the rest of the WHouse silverware goodbye. HITLIARY must NEVER sleep? in the People's House ever again...
Remember the little looney guy who split us up and Billy Jeff was the result...
Allen's going to be the candidate to beat in the South, and I don't seen anyone who can beat him there. He will also be very strong in the Midwest.
