Amnesty, aka "Earned Legalization," aka a "Guest Worker Program" is said to be part of the solution to the uncontrolled flood of millions of foreign citizens illegally forcing their way into the United States each year.
Amnesty for 2.6 million illegal aliens in 1986 worked so well that today the number of illegal aliens in the country has risen to at least 11 million -- a 423% increase in immigration crime. It's almost like rewarding illegal behavior causes more illegal behavior.
But this amnesty will be different. If we reward the 11 million immigration criminals currently here in violation of our visa, tax, and employment laws, we are told, that will help end illegal immigration by bringing these admirable folks "out of the shadows."
Well, apparently it has brought them out of the shadows and straight into the hot desert sun of the border region. The Associated Press reports that just the talk of amnesty has caused a huge spike in border infiltration, as hundreds of thousands more illegal aliens rush to get into the country in time to qualify for all the freebies currently being contemplated in Congress.
The AP reported that Francisco Loureiro, the manager of a "shelter" providing space to people waiting for night to break into America, said that "he has not seen such a rush of migrants since 1986, when the United States allowed 2.6 million illegal residents to get American citizenship."
Occupants of Loureiro's criminal staging area were up an impressive 33% over this time last year. One tenant, whom we'll call "Ramirez," because that's the fake name he will use on his amnesty application, explained why he finally decided to sneak across the border, "My brothers said there is plenty of work there, and that it looks like they will start giving (work) permits."
Way to go, John McCain! Problem solved, Harry Reid! Again it's almost like rewarding illegal behavior causes more, not less, illegal behavior.
If this amnesty works as well as the last, and it looks like it will, we can look forward to being told in twenty years that amnesty is the only way to bring 46 million immigration criminals "out of the shadows" and into the voting booth.

You know what, we've seen what happened in the past after amnesties were granted. We've seen what the mere mention of it resulted in. We predicted what another one would do, whether called an amnesty or a 'guest-worker with the right to be naturalized' down the road.
Now we're seeing it.
Either our elected officials in Washington are stupid beyond comprehension, or they actually want to turn this into Mexico.
Either way, it's clear that our Washington officals have Jumped the Shark!
Yep, and to make the water run out faster fine the crap out of employers. Otherwise, we are converting the country to a third world swamp.

Granted, most elected officials can be downright stupid and lazy, but this behavior goes beyond cheap labor for GOP businesses and the Hispanic vote for Democrats. This is totally senseless, mindless behavior that undermines the very foundation of our Republic. In a military sense, its a bloodless invasion and takeover by a foreign entity. In 50 years, it won't matter anyway. You and I won't recognize the good old USA.
That's the ticket. To use another metaphor, we can continue to swat mosquitos or we can drain the swamp.
Note that the current debate emphacizes an amnesty program (that's what it is, though they can call it a `Guest Worker' program, or whatever they like) for current Mexican nationals in our country breaking our law.
So how much have you heard about `enforcement', or stopping future Mexicans? Three million in `86 (probably amazed that they were pardoned, rather than `booted'); twenty years later, 11 million. In twenty more years?
Build real walls or fences at their favorite crossing places, then the Border Patrol--now known as `The Welcome Wagon: Bienvenidos!'--can be expected to do its job.
Sadly, I agree. We're a nation that couldn't be conquered, so our leaders decided to give it away...

Hmmm. Have any of the amnesty idiot thought of this little fact: If you "legalize" the illegals they will have to paid more, subject to various regulations, increase your official headcount making the employer subject to certain laws, etc. In other words, it will make our new "guest" workers cost almost as much as hiring Americans.
ALL of which creates a market for more illegals...

I do hope (I think I can hope) over the Easter break the Senators and Reps get such an earful from their constituents that they will come back with a stunned look on their faces. Particularly those Senators up for election this year.

The immigration issue is the one issue that is more likely to destroy America in the end then anyother. More then CFR, Roe v Wade, USSC picks..... sorry those issues all pale in comparison to open borders, illegal immigration and amnesty every 10-20 years.
