What he addressed is THE PAST. Whatever happened, there is no going back. He accomplished nothing positive by what he said. He is experienced enough to know that would happen. He undermined the President and our troops for his own selfish political reasons. He's off my list as of today.

I believe that Newt is out there calling the original article that highlighted his "enormous mistake" statements as way out of context, and a blatant example of media misreporting.

I don't think the Today show heard this (Hey we got Newt bashing the Iraq War and Bush...Book Him!), and are probably disappointed in his comments. Newt probably knew he was booked on Today for more bashing, but it's the only way to get on the show.

Actually, this could be a great way to get past the liberal producers of every single mainstream media news show. Make statements that can be taken out of context to slime Bush or Republicans, then get on and say whatever the hell you want.

The MSM seems to have turned against McCain, so they need a new golden boy. Maybe they've selected Newt, since he has been espousing 'beg me to, and I will run for the Presidency'.

I heard Newt on Sean's radio program. Blaming President Bush wasn't part of the his shtick then. He's smart but not presidential. His voice is too high as well.

EGO

Republican and even conservative politicians have to know their MSM appearances will be used against Bush and the party. Spector is one of the worst EGO driven politicians who often makes anti-Bush statements just to get himself some air and ink. John McCain uses this ploy better than anyone.

The democrats have their Obama and to a worse degree, Harold Ford, Jr. These two feign non-partisanship, tease the media, then always tow the the party line when push comes to shove.

Gingrich, unbelievably, incredibly, really is running for president, so he's a whore for any MSM attention he can get.
