XP-running Macs give PCs a run for their money.....Youll forgive me if I seem a little confused these days. Despite the fact that I work in a lab full of Macs, I spend more of my time lately staring at Windows XP than at Mac OS X.
....SNIP....
As you can see, the Macs running Windows gave these PCs a run for their money, with the 2.16GHz MacBook Pro turning in the fastest scores on three of the five individual tests.

I can remove Mac OS 10.4 from my powerbook and replace it with XP??!?!
I haven't been this excited since I learned that I could buy a new Mercedes and replace the interior with one from a 1972 Chevy Vega!
Yes, sarc:)
Not remove, dual boot.
I would not defile my mac with XP.
This might mean corporate will let you buy that Mac.
As a Mac OS bigot, I'm still not interested:)
Actually, I do keep an old windows box around to test websites under development, dual bootable with Linux or Win XP.
Just ended the better part of a decade working in academia where Solaris ruled. Left to work on my own business ideas. Doing XHTML, CSS, XML and java development I feel most comfortable working in a unix environment. Mac OS X is a good flavor of Unix with nice icing on the top so all the multimedia things happen without much trouble.
Might be nice to ditch the extra box though...
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.

It is an nice option :-)
Pimp my Ride! '72 Vega. A classic... in bad engineering.
Meanwhile, back at the thread, I've been reading some pretty cool stuff about virtualization using Parallels.
Thanks for the Parallels tip, will check it out!
Pimp my powerbook.
Giving all systems similar components of course they will score similar scores, although that last system with the 2.0 ghz amd seems a bit low I need to look up other benchies for that processor. Why people think it would be a vast improvement or different over a regular intel based system is beyond me.
I had heard that the EULA for all Microsoft products say you will not publish any benchmarking results.
Maybe that was Oracle.
Both of them, for their database products. They say it's to make sure that benchmarks are fair and accurate. But Microsoft used the license to prevent the publication of one unfavorable test that even their own engineers consulted on to try to get the speed up.
How can anyone be opposed to gay marriage and see nothing wrong with running XP on a Mac? It's just not natural.
You almost made me spew my tea on my iBook... That really is funny!
