Bush would never say it but I would bet he's thinking....

Screw the poll numbers. A number of FReepers will be on the MSM side of this thinking the sky is falling.

It's only once or twice in a lifetime that you see a politician who wants to do what is best for America and not what the pollsters want you to think is best for America.

Bush is one of those guys and history will prove him out. I cannot imagine having the Democrats in charge when our country is in such peril by a group of terrorists wanting to control not only the U.S., but the world.

Some in this country would have America surrender to this group and hope they treat us well. Not this President.

His stance on illegal immigration will eventually bury him and detract substantially from his 'War on Terror' policies. People are so pissed off about his obvious pandering to illegals that they will not support anything he has done and wants to do. He has lost my support. Maybe he really is an idiot. We seem to be headed toward 'civil strife' over the question of illegals. And I mean real civil strife. There are dark clouds ahead for our country. These are sad times. Our arrogant political class is selling out Americans for personal political power.

"His . . presidency appears to have a chronic case of the below-40 percent blues."

The MSM bashes Bush in the belief that the MSM's fortunes will rise as Bush's falls. When the MSM's fortunes keep falling they take the course bash some more. The dog thinks that it ca catch it's tail if only it can turn a little faster.

Bush is less than 50% because conservatives are pissed at Bush.

CURE TO W'S BAD POLL NUMBERS:

1. Adopt a Get Tough Policy on Immigration -- Not Just A Guest Worker Program, But Increased Border Security and a Fence.

2. Veto some spending bills.

3. Stop cooperating with Democrats who treat you like a door mat.

4. Kick ass in Iraq.

RESULT -- Increased Poll Numbers!!

Polls shmolls, let the libs worry about them. He is tackling some major problems that are not popular but critical for this Country. He solves them and history will take care of itself.

According to Rasmussen the President's approval number is 43%. This is about what it's been for months. Rasmussen's numbers were nearly perfect on the last presidential election! The MSM only uses polling firms that are inaccurate!

Bush has 20 points over the press and 15 points over either Party in Congress. Bush polls higher (double digit lead) than all political opponents!

My advise to the President:
1. Stay off of TV as much as possible. Your speeches are only used as comic clips on late night TV, and why make it easy for the joke-writers. Let VP Cheyne do the talking.
2. Don't slouch into your coat so that you appear to actually be shrinking before our eyes.
3. Get out of the White House and listen to the people. You will have a Democrat congress next year if gas goes up to $2.85+. Voters don't give a hoot whether Shiites and Sunnis are happy in their hellhole if it's costing $75 to fill up the truck so they can get to work.
4. Fire everyone who has been giving you advice, including Karl Rove. Obviously, it's been bad advice from the beginning of this second term. I thought the challenge to the Dems about having all that "political capital" you were going to spend was a HUGE mistake when I saw you give your first post re-relection speech, and I was right. You didn't know that when you corner a junk yard dog, they may die, but they'll rip you to pieces before they do. And believe me, you've been ripped this year.

"O'Donnell: "political observers claim big speeches and staff changes won't turn things around..."

I despise Kelly O'Donnell, she was one of the MSM's most virulent Bush bashers during the 04 campaign, but she is right here. Bush needs to push a bold strong CONSERVATIVE domestic agenda that will catch the dems and the MSM off guard, and at the same time rally his base in time for the 06 mid-terms. How about:

1) strongly supporting States' rights to restrict abortions.
2) strongly supporting the second amendment in the face of Bob Menendez's, Hillary's and Schumer's new attempt to weaken it.
3) strongly enforcing our current immigration laws and getting serious about border enforcement.

Dems and the MSM hate the issues of abortion and gun ownership because they are losers for them and winners for Repubs. Also, if Bush will not support the House immigration bill then he should at least dramatically increase funding for enforcement of our southern border and start to seriously enforce our current immigration laws. When the dems and MSM scream for more restrictions on gun ownership we Repubs always say that we should enforce the current laws on the books. I agree with this, so why not ENFORCE our current immigration laws and get serious about protecting our border(s).

I care what NBC has to say, why? The Lamestream media is one of the reasons we are having so many problems today.

Yeah, with poll numbers like that, his re-election bid is in trouble... What? He can't run again?
Oh. Never mind...

Bush's low poll numbers reflect the opinions of many people who don't like his stand on immigration or spending. I'm sure there are many conservatives who didn't mind his Katrina actions but didn't like the money he planned to spend on cleaning up after Katrina. If Bush took a hard stand on illegal immigration, his numbers would jump by at least ten to fifteen percent.

To me, the most glaring thing about the bias in these recountings of W's low approval ratings is that the newsdrones always seem to find a way to avoid mentioning whether or not Bush's ratings are higher or lower than those of Jimmy Carter.

It is as if the MSM has joined the education industry in a plot to conceal the fact that Carter was -- by any objective measure -- the worst President of the second half of the 20th Century, and perhaps the worst of all time.

Carter was "born again" a second time after the Bush-hating Nobel Institute anointed him with the so-called Peace Prize, transforming him from Good-With-Hammer-Bad-With -Power guy into the America-hater the World Loves To Hate Along With.

Machiavelli said one could secure one's rule through love or fear. Love is more transitory than fear.

I suggest he massively retaliates against Iran's provocation.
