Just a reminder: Free Republic is a conservative site

Posted on 04/11/2006 3:33:35 AM PDT by Jim Robinson

Just a reminder: Free Republic is a conservative site. We fight for conservative principles, values and causes. We defend the Constitution. We defend our borders. We defend our God-given rights. We are opposed to the liberal/socialist/Marxist agenda for America. We do not willingly give up ground to the Marxists.

It's true that the illegal immigration issue is very discouraging, and I don't know if anyone has a solution that will appeal to conservatives and yet manage to get by Democrat obstructionism, ie, a filibuster, but I don't see that as any reason to give up everything. We should not allow it to rip us apart and destroy the movement. We fight on.

We hold the majority. We continue working as hard as we possibly can to elect as many conservatives as we possibly can. We build a conservative majority that can overcome the Democrats and the RINOs. We do not willingly give up any seats to Democrats. We add seats. Preferably, conservative seats.

I would also like to remind everyone, that Free Republic does not condone racism and does not advocate violence. We exercise our first amendment rights to free speech and peaceable assembly. We do not condemn people because of their race, religion, ethnicity, skin color, etc. We do not advocate civil war, anarchy, or an overthrow of the government. We do not advocate shooting illegals or mining the borders. We do not appreciate people coming across our borders illegally, but as conservatives, we do not issue racial epithets or threaten them with violence or bodily harm.

And, yes, we are at war. And we do support our troops and their mission. We also respect our commander-in-chief and are mindful that when people disrespect him, it hurts troop morale. We do not appreciate the mainstream media's attempts to destroy America's will to fight and we do not do anything to assist the Democrats and their accomplices in the media in their treasonous mission of undermining the war effort by providing aid and comfort to the enemy.

And despite our dissatisfaction and disappointments in regards to the illegal immigration issue, we recognize that it is not the last issue on earth and there are plenty of other reasons not to allow the Marxist Democrats to retake power.

I'll list a few issues (by no means and exhaustive list) that will be adversely affected by Marxist/Democrats in power:

Islamofascism/terrorism
National Security/Defense
The United Nations (as in their control over us)
The Supreme Court
The federal judiciary
The legislative agenda
The right to life
Marriage between one man, one woman
The family
Education
Health care
Private property
Taxation
Oil/energy
The right to keep and bear arms
The right to freedom of religion
The right to self-governance
All of our God-given rights
The Constitution
The Republic
Liberty itself

Do not get so discouraged that we give it all up. It could take generations to get it back. If ever.

"Securing the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity" is our duty.

I know what you were claiming. It is BS through and through. While it is impossible to prove there are NO Marxists within the GOP it is also true that YOU can't name any. If you even know what a Marxist is (Marx claimed not to be one.)

Awww, is it over? And I was so enjoying our shin kicking contest. There is nothing wrong with our congress critters, but the Senate needs to be ousted. And as a conservative I plan to do my part to see they pay.

"Just don't allow the Denocrats to take back the House and Senate in November. If we do, we all lose. And we lose for an awfully long time..."

Well, seeing as how the US economy must have ebb and flow, now may be the time to turn the country back over to the Left for 6 years.

Let them have the Congress and the White House.

They will fall hard on their socialist asses and make Jimmy Carter's presidency seem like Ronald Reagan in their eyes.

President Bush allowed every homeowner of 5 years or more to essentially win the lottery, which enabled them to live with a bankrupt social security system.

President Bush responded to the terrorists who attacked NY and Washington...and there hasn't been an attack since.

With Iran possibly going nuclear and obtaining "the bomb", let's see how the MSM treat "The Skank from NY" or whoever wins the WH in 08.

Let's see how raising our taxes and being anti-business ruins the economy that would have a correction regardless.

Actually, I'm ready for the opportunity to tear into their BS agenda....just like we did to Clinton.

I am not any less of a conservative, but I am getting damned tired of seeing the MSM portray President Bush as Satan.

How about Jim Jeffords... There are plenty of others that champion Marxist laws (anit-capitalism laws). How many "Republicans" vote for state sponsored health care at taxpayer expense? How about Republicans expanding funding for public schools instead allowing market solutions (capitalism)? Look at McCain demanding rights for illegal aliens - "workers rights" over that of the sovereignty of the United States. For Marx workers were the state - borders meant nothing.

Marx's basically theorized that societies would transition from capitalism to a workers paradise where the workers controlled everything (communism).

What the hey.......one more post won't hurt.

You're going to plan to do your part to see that the entire country pays, then. Because if Harry Reid becomes majority leader, this country most likely will never recover.

As I said, if that's what you really want, then you're a leftist. It's a shame, because I think you're smart in other ways.

I can appreciate your feelings.

However, I do NOT believe our country would survive 8 years of the DIMRATS being in power.

By that I mean that they would so thoroughly rush us into the global government that the USA we have known would cease to exist in anything remotely similar to the form it was designed to exist in; in anything remotely familiar with what we have loved and enjoyed all our lives.

The freedoms would even more wholesale be gone.

Shrillery would be confiscating and giving to even worse Marxists tyrants more than you might imagine--all she could get away with. And with DIMRAT globalists aplenty in the Senate and as many more as they could gather in the House . . . 'sold down the river' would take on horrid new meaning.

Your suggestion would result in an extremely horrid outcome.

There would be no more GOP, period. There would be no more Conservatism as soon as they could get away with rounding us all up.

The way Shrillery treated the White House staff would be child's play compared to the way she and her gestapo goons would treat Conservatives in general in her reign. Talk about extermination and termination!

No, I'm not looney nor irrational. The above is probably a very tame, conservative description compared to what the true reality would be.

You should learn to never trust the left, no matter what.

I am not any less of a conservative, but I am getting damned tired of seeing the MSM portray President Bush as Satan.

I expect nothing more or nothing less from the media. They are part of the left-wing of this country. I'm not even surprised anymore all the labels the the left and their cohorts in the media pin upon Republicans and conservatives these days.

8 years of Clinton obviously didn't teach you one thing.

All you say may be true, BUT....

Thomas Jefferson's words ring in my ears...(along with my acute tinnitus)

Reading the news today, you must agree that it may be time to fight and shed blood in order to save our Republic and return to the principles of the Constitution.

I'm 60 in 120 days...so it doesn't matter to me personally.

But I worry about my children and grand children...and the USA they will grow up and live in.
