However W is the current president and he has just about flat out publicly stated that he will not enforce the Immigration Laws...Making stuff up are we?

Free Republic is a conservative site
Thanks Jim.
After reading your reminder maybe the freeper Republican Bushies might ease-up just a little with the attacks on us freeper conservatives.

GD, as an add, I respectively disagree with JR 's priorities.
We can defeat the Islamos with one hand tried - In fact, thats how we are doing it now. :^)
Abortion? Living in a Mexamera Marxist country that does not allow abortion would be meaningless to me. I and my family would leave the country.
Yes, the issue is a checkmate. There are no further moves after that.

Dole was the first person I ever voted for.
I wish the memory of my first vote was as pleasant.
I voted for Jimmy Carter.
Thank God I saw the light, eventually.
To: BigSkyFreeper
He had no effect on Congressional racesI disagree, he set a tone that made people want a change in leadership, an end to the status quo, that kicked to the curb a number of democrats, and since Perot didn't have candidates ready to fill their spots, people voted for republicans instead. He may not of effected it but he certainly caused it.

Ok Jim I am with you on your other list of priorities as for electing conservatives I am glad you did not say Republicans. As many have shown by their votes- they do not share conservative values.
Guess we will have to agree to disagree on the importance of illegal immigration as I still feel this will change America and the founding fathers vision of our country much more than any attack by islamofascists. If Japan and Germany combined could not do it these sand fleas have no chance. But if illegals vote in marxists- then the overthrow of our government is set in stone.

There needs to be a balance between "litmus tests" and advocating principles because "party principles" are currently inadequate. The RNC, for example, has proven this with their support for some RINOs. My solution to this problem is to only support candidates. Last election I supported about 6 including Thune, Coburn, and that guy in Wash state. There are other good organizations like club for growth that IMO are worth supporting.

Just a reminder: Free Republic is a conservative site. We fight for conservative principles, values and causes. We defend the Constitution. We defend our borders. We defend our God-given rights. We are opposed to the liberal/socialist/Marxist agenda for America. We do not willingly give up ground to the Marxists. So, Free Repulic does not support globalist policies? Genuine conservatism is incompatible with globalism. If Free Republic supports globalism, then Free Republic is really a Neo-conservative site.

Jim, please ping all elected Republicans at the Federal, State, and Local levels and make them aware of this too.
In my home town, we just had a mayoral election where the incumbent, a Republican, was totally inept and was alternately trying to please everybody and waging war against fellow Republicans who opposed his big spending.
He lost by about 4% of the vote. In my opinion, this foreshadows things to come if some Republicans (most of them I daresay, almost all of them in the US Senate) don't grow some cojones and start being Republicans again.

If this is confession time, then let me say that I voted for Gerald Ford in 1976, my first Republican, because Jimmy Carter was such an idiot that a bumbler seemed better.
In 1980 I voted for John Anderson because he was advocating balanced budgets. That vote led me during Iran Contra to write a letter of apology to President Reagan for not supporting him earlier, telling him that he had won me over with his good judgment. I hadn't bothered to tell him before then but figured with all the attacks, he could use the letter of support at that time. (Got a nice little note back.)

No ammunition you mean.
No you're wrong
My intent was not to hijack this thread
not to argue ID v evo
just to simply point out the protection
afforded the evos by the mods on FR.
After that I have no comment
And no matter what you or buddies say
you are not going to draw me into an argument
on this thread about id\evo so you might as well move on

Vote in the primary FOR the most conservative candidate who has a realistic chance of winning the general.I don't think so, I would vote for the one you agree with the most in the primary.
Then you're doing in the primary the same thing you're advising others not to do in the general.
If there are three candidates in the primary, (1) your ideal conservative candidate who would have no hope in the general (2) another conservative candidate who could realistically win the general and (3) a RINO who could realistically win the general,
by voting for (1) instead of (2) you are splitting the conservative vote and helping the RINO get elected.
