Please mark your calendars to be in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, April 23, 2006 for a rally calling on the federal government to secure our borders, enforce our immigration laws and to not give amnesty to illegal aliens.
A formal announcement will be coming soon after a few details are worked out. Time is short, so I wanted to give everyone a heads up that something is in the works.
Please note, this will not be a rally for those who hate immigrants. This will be a rally for those who love America and want to preserve it for all Americans and legal immigrants.
BTTT - I'll be there!
At some point we will have to march..
I'm not a public protester in any way, shape or form. Large crowds make my skin crawl; I can barely survive a trip to the mall. I do my "subverting the commies" work behind the scenes through political means. I admire Kristinn and what he wants to do, but it's not for me.
Besides, I can't leave the farm this time of year...I've got hens & eggs to sell, my Farm Stand opens in a week, and I've got crops to put in. I'm volunteering for Mark Green for Governor, so I'm on the phone and doing mailings and the like.

Wait! I'll hire some ILLEGALS to do all of my work for me and take a few days off. Brilliant! (Yeah, THAT'S going to happen, LOL!)
I will spread the word, though. :)
"Ping to Wisconsin Conservative Politics Ping List!"
If it's anywhere close to the small number of people that showed up at the Swift Vets Rally, it will be an embarrassment rather than doing any real good. Don't forget, the MSM will find a way to make it look even more miserable. They always do, just as they find a way to puff and pretty up gatherings for 'their' issues. They are impressed with size and display even if it's all dishonest.
It seemed to me almost all the reporters were practically exclaiming "Patriotism at its finest!" in their reports about yesterday's protests. Guess who they were echoing? Hillary Clinton.
I don't know what your definition of 'a respectable showing' is, but IMO this is not really a good idea.
A march with a few thousand people will be an utter disaster. Keep your powder dry and think about the implications of such a thing. You would be raw meat to a hungry media that is dying for a chance to chew you up. It is just a really, really bad idea to have a march. Just the worst thing our side could do.
Tip.
Unless about at least 30,000 turnout can be guaranteed, it comes too close on the heels of a nearly 100,000 turn out by illegal alien supporters.
The media, hopelessly pro-illegal and leftist, will show the distinction and will not stop driving the point home.
Therefore, I suggest this event be held inside, in an auditorium of some sort. Fill it to the rafters and then invite the media.
This is just a strategic comment, not pouring water on the fire.
We could hurt our cause (think in the minds of Joe Sixpack watching these) if the turnout is pitiful in a comparative sense.
This is simply a tactical observation here, while being fully in support of the political objectives.
I was about to post the same sentiments. While I have the highest regard for kristinn and the D.C. gang, I'm afraid this will backfire. It's extremely unlikely to attact anything like the numbers we've seen at the pro-illegal rallies...and that will be used against our cause.

Only if you are AFRAID of the media.. Who cares what they show? Do you think that people at home are going to believe there is no support to protect our borders? I think not. American people are smart!
Who is sponsoring it??
A ridiculous statement like this only serves to make my point. You had damn well better care what they show! Most Americans are on the same side of this issue as you are, but if you allow your stance to be framed through the prism of the MSM, you can see that support fall away rapidly. You have to be more sophisticated about this and remember that you are in a war. You cant just rush blindly into the breech, because you are likely to get your ass shot off. You only fight openly when you have the advantage, and in this case you do not.
>A ridiculous statement like this only serves to make my
I agree with the last part but not the first part.
If people are voting depending on what they see on TV - we are in a big trouble! MSM is working 24/7 to skew everything to the left and the only thing the accomplished is to turn off all viewers. I don't know any person that believes MSM anymore.. So I say screw'em!
They said that about the Minutemen, too. Didn't happen.
You're the type who can find a thousand reasons not to act. I'm sure there were folks of your mindset during the leadup to the Revolutionary War, also.
Oh, and please inform us what FR or conservative rallies you HAVE attended over the years.
