Americans should be concerned about the competitive edge that our tax system gives foreign manufacturers. We should no longer allow the income tax to make foreign-produced goods more competitive than our own.
Replacing the income tax with the Fair Tax, a highly progressive federal consumption tax, will end this practice and make American products 20 percent to 30 percent more competitive, both at home and abroad. What a break for U.S. producers and consumers as well!
Getting rid of the income tax will dramatically lower production costs in this country. And competition will ensure that these cost savings will flow not only to the pockets of American manufacturers who will be able to create more and better-paying jobs, but also to the pockets of American consumers who will be able to buy more, save more, and invest more.
Its time to give American producers and consumers a break by passing the Fair Tax into law. I would encourage your readers to visit their Web site at www.fairtax.org.
Another "agendatorial".
Pay no attention to the men behind the curtian....
What men? What curtain?

"..don't worry our new influx of immigrants will keep everything in order"
--- None of the 'pro income tax' people can explain ~why~ they want our present insane system to continue.
Could it be that they all have some sort of vested interest in business as usual, and don't care if this Republic is on the road to serfdom?
--Bet on it.
And if this thread does not add to his agenda, he will just get it pulled as a dupe.
Another benefit: it forces illegal immigrants to pay taxes!
and now every time I pay my babysitter cash, we're guilty of income AND sales tax evasion. Shall we start policing garage sales for lack of sales tax collection? Oh, wait, you have to have a permit for that ... NEVER create a new tax without abolishing the prior one, and the government will never abolish a tax. Hence, adding a national sales tax to an income tax will kill the economy and makes us all greater law breakers than we already were.
Huh?
I'm confused by your comment. Can you explain it one segment at a time?
Unless you pay the babysitter over $600 per year, you are not breaking the law in any case... over $600 per year, you are supposed to give her a 1099 form.
Nobody "likes" the current system.
So you claim, while you fight efforts to reform the system.
Could it be that they all have some sort of vested interest in business as usual, and don't care if this Republic is on the road to serfdom?"
Nobody with more than one working brain cell believes the "FairTax" (complete oxymoron) is the answer.
Millions of your peers disagree. -- Most of whom have [obviously] more brain cells working than you.
-- I agree that the fairtax scheme could use some revision, which I'm sure it will get before being passed. -- But its basic structure is the best answer yet for getting us out of our existing social security/income tax mess.
--Bet on it.
Homer Simpson is the perfect 'mascot' for the FT movement. (Thanks, Doogle)
Inane remark, one that proves my initial point. --
-- None of you 'pro income tax' people can explain ~why~ you want our present insane system to continue.
I do not fight reform,
Bull. You fight what you imagine is "far worse in the long run that what we have". -- You support what "we have"..
I fight the socialist efforts
Pejorative. The Fairtax prebate could help in eliminating further socialistic welfare schemes.
to hatch a monster over which we will have no control, and will be far worse in the long run that what we have.
We 'control' the IRS & SSI bureaucracy 'we have'? -- Get a grip.
But you have already swallowed the blue pill, so the other 200 million people who don't believe you just get ignored.
'Blue pill' idiocy. -- The 200 million 'others' are barely aware of the issue.
There are a few million fighting for reform, another few million fighting for big brother, and the rest are watching Homer Simpson.
Straw man argument... are you a "Deanie Baby" ?
ping

Two bits you can't point out the "straw"..
are you a "Deanie Baby" ?
I'll bite. Whats a "deanie", baby?
If anyone would like to be added to this ping list let me know.
John Linder in the House(HR25) & Saxby Chambliss Senate(S25) offer a comprehensive bill to kill all income and SS/Medicare payroll taxes outright and replace them with with a national retail sales tax administered by the states.
H.R.25,S.25
A bill to promote freedom, fairness, and economic opportunity by repealing the income tax and other taxes, abolishing the Internal Revenue Service, and enacting a national retail sales tax to be administered primarily by the States.Refer for additional information:
Step 1: Build the Straw Man: "Evolution is false! How could a mouse evolve into an elephant!?"
Step 2: Knock down the Straw Man by any means necessary: "How could a mouse evolve into an elephant? There would have to be billions of changes for that to occur, and nobody has ever seen speciation anyway!"
Step 3: Connect the original position to the Straw Man:"So it's silly...who has ever seen a mouse evolve into an elephant? Nobody!!"
Step 4: Claim to negate the opposing position by the connection in 3. "Therefore, evolution must be false!"
It's more than obvious you know not whereof you speak.
I suggest you read the FairTax bill and visit the FairTax website before mouthing off. Almost all your points are unfounded nonsense.
