Any hot threads? I am BORED!
I can attest to the quality of the comments EC.And thanks for the nice words. it's almost 1:00 Eastern and I am not even at post 300 yet!!
Thanks you for everything you do snugs.
I understand both sides of the argument on what to do about the illegals currently here. We need to find out who they are and get them on the tax rolls. We also need to make employers more responsible. I just don't know HOW, and every time a solution is proposed, there are flaws which need to be considered.
I am quite tired of being accused of supporting illegal immigration. I do not, and I want a solution found. It has fallen to the Republicans to do this, imperfect though they are, because the democrats will not do anything (and we have 8 years of their behavior with Clinton in office to prove it).
I could only take short bursts of watching Kerry on MTP (I had to turn away, throw up or throw something at the TV) but I did catch a lengthy bit where he talked about going down to the Vietnam wall late at night and seeing all of those names of boys who were killed after we knew that the Vietnam war was a "mistake." (He remembers vividly standing there, with the rest of the team of JAG lawyers from the office where he worked, on Christmas Eve... in the snow... with a beautiful Marine Colonel named Mac... he keeps a lucky bra she gave him in his desk drawer...)
I am desperate for someone to go back and find all of the claims about how things would be just perfect if only we'd leave Vietnam. All they were saying was "give peace a chance." Then throw it in the face of monsters like John Kerry and point out the MILLIONS of Vietnamese, Cambodians and other who were slaughtered because we "gave peace a chance." Every one of their lies caused death and misery on a monstrous scale and now they are trying to do the same thing to the people of another region of the world.
They always talk about Vietnam as if abandoning them and running away was the right thing to do. History will not be kind to this generation of Americans, particularly slime like Kerry.
Thank you MO1.
Thanks, Anita, this is great stuff.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Sen. John Kerry insists on proving that he can't be trusted. He made his political debut in 1970, joining the Vietnam Veterans Against the War, then accused American troops of war crimes in Vietnam -- and tried to deny he had done so. During his ill-fated presidential campaign, Kerry's hyperventilated claims to be a war hero were called into question by his own comrades. Now, the Democrat defeatist has published his formula for victory in Iraq: Just quit.
In a 600-word screed published this week by the New York Times, Kerry lays out his vision for the future. Unfortunately, like so much else in the Massachusetts liberal's political life, it is full of flim-flam, half-truths, distortions and outright falsehoods. A few examples based on my seven trips covering U.S. forces in Iraq for FOX News:
Kerry: "Now we find our troops in the middle of an escalating civil war."
Reality: No U.S. or Iraqi official has described what's happening as a civil war.
Im glad I havent eaten yet...
Better late than never
I am not trying to pick a fight. I am serious about this. I think it would be good, factual stuff that would counter a lot of the shouting.
I want some sort of resolution to this issue, even if we decide to maintain the status quo as a conscious decision. All of the arguing is presenting a divided front to the world, and I don't think it is good for the country to continue to do so.
Thank you for 'doing your job', jveritas. You have contributed SO MUCH. Now, our job will be to spread the results far and wide....and repeatedly.
From an article that Phillips gave at Purdue recently:
Gift. Purpose. Destiny.
Julian Phillips, FOX News anchor and Purdue graduate, wrote these three words on the board behind him during his speech.
"Thirty-two years ago, I arrived here, a skinny kid from Queens on a Greyhound bus," he said. "Twenty-eight years after graduation, here I am."
So Julian's a New Yahkah from Da City.
I have been to the wall just once. It is an overwhelming emotional experience. My anger at Kerry actually bringing it up and his claim that if the government had listened to him 30+ years ago it would have saved lives is beyond comment. His actions at that time emboldened the NVA and Viet Cong, and directly led to additional US lives lost and the enslavement of millions of South Vietnamese. He is truly despicable.
I would love to see that it sound so beautiful a real live Bambi
You will find alot of information on this thread, Miss M.
