It's really pretty simple. Reid lied. Pandering to both sides of any given issue is what Democrat do best.
Republicans biggest fault is not realizing we are in a war with Democrats and we continue to "play nice" with them. We keep letting the wounded get up over and over to attack us again.
Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton DEFINE the word incompetence, and here we're letting them charge us with it.
To: eeevil conservative
I saw that exchange between Kyl and Reid...and I thought the same things you do---that Kyl missed a great opportunity to slap Reid and his bill right out of the Senate building...but didn't do it.
BTW--WAY TO GO GIRL, YOU ARE ON FIRE TODAY!!!

In the context of whether we should withdraw immediately from Iraq (Kerry now, at least this week, is supporting it), he said (paraphrasing but trying to be as close as I can) "Well, Tim , last night I went down to the Vietnam Memorial, and as I stood there in the dark, looking at all the names of those killed, and realizing that so many of them died after the goverment realized it had made a mistake, I knew I had to do more for our troops, etc. etc. blah, blah blah"
I can't convey his overly drmatic tone and creepiness. He is scum.

He will pander to the "hard working, undocumented workers." Kerry wants to be seen as their champion... Add "doing jobs Americans won't do" and you could be talking about Bush.
To: MNJohnnie
Has Wilson even been subpoened by anybody?

Thanks, and it's true. The media today has conveniently forgotten the harassment towards the Bush White House which resulted in the release of documents.
Moral of the story is Bush Lied, and he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Either way, anything Bush does is lose-lose in their minds.

Fascinating stuff rockrr.

Kerry isnt capable of thoughtful contributions-they are spoonfed by a cowed staff. He cannot contstruct a coherent, meaningful thought on his own. By the way, Blitzer is interviewing Kerry on CNN and Kerry has his Viet Nam picture on the Swift Boat carefully positioned behind him. I am throwing up my breakfast.

I didn't want to come in late and comment on something that had already been discussed...
But, the roundtable was Will, Dionne, Zacaria, Robert and Stephy...and NOT ONE single sentence was uttered that was in any way POSITIVE...on any subject.
The most amazing thing was when Dionne said the elections in November would be based on National Security and the Economy...and as we can all see "the Republicans have real problem on the national security front because of Iraq and the immigration thing"...
BUT, the kicker was when he then turned to the Economy and said that Robert Rubin has come out with a book that shows that the CLINTON LEGACY is what is going to be shown how our economy CAN be fixed....!!!!
First of all the premise that the economy is in BIG TROUBLE, but that the foundation of CLINTON'S ecomonic policies will be the saviour.
NONE of the panelists even questioned that, or questioned that the economy is in bad shape...
PPPPPPPPPPPFFFFFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!

It is a lot of money, but Old Friend has a point. Picking crops in 100 degree heat is not something that a lot of Americans CAN do. We are not acclimated to working in that type of heat and would probably quit.
On the other hand, I betcha a lot of those troops who are sweltering in body armor in 120 degree heat in Iraq would cheerfully do it for a season or two, to get a nice nest-egg.
It all comes down to WILLING workers, doesn't it?
