I just couldn't listen to Kerry today; it's one of those perfect 10 days weather wise and he makes me think I must have gone insane because nothing he says makes sense, he contradicts himself and then lies about whether he had a previous policy position and the media sits there and nods their head as though he's made some thoughtful points. Personally, I think he smoked a little too much wackie weed in the 60's.
Since the man committed 'suicide' there is no way to prove the case.
I was SHOCKED that no one TRULY called Reid on his RIDICULOUS stand against the felon and misdemeaner part of the Kyle/Cronyn amendment.
Reid claimed that to eliminate illegals from the chance of amnesty if they were convicted of a felony or 3 or more misdemeamers would "gut the bill" and eliminate 95% of the illegals.
MY HEAD EXPLODED!
Kyle repsonded by naming off the offenses that would eliminate the illegals. Then challenged the 95% figure.
I thought that was LAME response.
I would have read off the list, yes.. but then I would have turned to Reid and said- First of all- if your number of 95% were correct- then stop trying to sell the American people the idea that these are LAW abiding people whose ONLY crime was wondering over an imaginary line because they just want to feed their families.
WHICH ONE IS IT REID?
Are they Law abiding people or LAW BREAKERS? Your numbers don't make your case- they make the case of the American people SCREAMING for SECURITY FOR OUR NATION!
Then I would have said:
Oh- and if being convicted of a felony, or 3 or more misdemeaners is too harsh for you- tell us the number of laws they SHOULD be allowed to break?
C'MON! GIve us a number? 5? 10? 15? 20?
C'MON! Pick a NUMBER! ANY NUMBER! Just tell the American People how many Laws you think ILLEGALS should be allowed to break, while American citizens are supposed to FOLLOW ALL THE LAWS!
Your BRILLIANCE in making MY CASE FOR ME IS ASTOUNDING! THANK YOU!
/rant off.....
Over 5 million new jobs have been created since 9/11; that's an astounding number and the Congressional Republicans should be bragging about the tax cuts and the president's policies. But no. Instead they are thinking of repealing or not extending the tax cuts. Bah. For five cents I'd kick every single one of them out of office.
This was not a good morning for conservatives this Sunday. Tim Russert failed to ask Kerry if he had signed his Form 180. And George Stephanopolis lobbed softball after softball to liar Joe Wilson. Ole lyin' Joe couldn't have asked for a more accomodating host.
Immigration on local ABQ station, too, following MTP. Pubbie candidate to replace liberal Senator Bingaman stressing that the issue is sovereignty not immigration, and has visited the border. Must secure the border first then deal with who is already here. I like this guy -- David Pfiffer from Santa Fe.
John Kerry was too sophmoric to smoke week, he chewed his.
HOWDY!!!! BETTER LATE THAN NEVER?????
I want to thank all of you for great posts...I have pretty good idea what happened on the shows I didn't watch.
I DID do something that I never, ever do---I listened to the roundtable on Stephy's show.
Did anyone else??
Did Kerry explain why we didn't win the war in Vietnam?
The "suicide bomber" was/is the unforeseen enemy that we weren't/aren't prepared to deal with in the Middle East. The "suicide bomber" cannot be controled. The "suicide bomber" rules. No getting around the "suicide bomber." No solution. No strategy. No end in sight. No way to combat the "suicide bomber's" tactics. Remember quagmire?
something to look forward to here.
Here I am guys, sorry for being late to the discussion.
WELCOME!
No- I didn't watch that....
you gonna clue us in?
Need a Sunday show staffed by Freepers.
Met the Informed? Face the Freepers? Reality Week?
FReeper Al Simmons commented on this in a thread yesterday. Do a search for his name and it comes up.
HEY THERE!
How is our man to go down in history?
Thanks again for all your hard work!
This guy dumped Laura when she was diagnosed with cancer. No matter his political leanings, he sounds like a male gold digger, attracted to female celebrities.
The meeting was reported the day after in Eric Alterman's blog. It has been corroborated by others in attendance, but not publicly.
I agree that Pitt's reputation as a self-serving lackey is known, but his detailed account of what can be construed as a concerted plot to fix a primary election has not been contradicted by any of the participants. In a recent reference to this meeting, Pitt gleefully related his experience in the tackily decorated bathroom of his sophomoric host.
I try to remember to post this in appropriate threads here as I consider it of enormous importance.
Bill O'Reilly reported on this around the time it happened but since the powers that be were all at this meeting O'Reilly's reporting on it was ignored.
PRESIDENT BUSH was right to approve the declassification of parts of a National Intelligence Estimate about Iraq three years ago in order to make clear why he had believed that Saddam Hussein was seeking nuclear weapons. Presidents are authorized to declassify sensitive material, and the public benefits when they do.
......As Mr. Fitzgerald pointed out at the time of Mr. Libby's indictment last fall, none of this is particularly relevant to the question of whether the grounds for war in Iraq were sound or bogus. It's unfortunate that those who seek to prove the latter would now claim that Mr. Bush did something wrong by releasing for public review some of the intelligence he used in making his most momentous decision.
"Mr Wilson, given your blatant dishonesty to date, will we have to subpoena your personal checking account records looking for DNC money, or will you surrender them voluntarily..?"
