The man irks me no end but he did get Roberts and Alito thru the committee.
read the entire thing, terrific.
Who will ask Kerry how he feels about the hundreds of thousands of Viet Namese who were murdered, starved or put in re-education camps when we cut and ran from VN.
That is indeed an interesting tidbit. Thanks for the recap!
ZERO
NY wants to allow the illegals to vote. Not yet, the federal elections but in the local elections.
Have a great evening...
Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures on the thread!!!
I don't know how anyone can be outdoors in midday there.
Try living in Central Texas (Waco area) in August....I did....I can understand why the WH press corpse is snippy with President Bush when he is at Crawford.
Especially that the President comes out to give a press avail in the hottest part of the day! LOL
There once was a man from Tikrit
who complained about Saddam on the street
he was soon whisked away
and I'm happy to say
no longer has a tongue, hands or feet.
Since when does good acting have anything to do with winning an Oscar?
No one from the MSM will...and those that DO...get ignored.
I think it is getting close to time for the Swift Boat Vets to make another appearance, as long as Kerry insists on referring to Vietnam like he does...
Agree totally, and would love it if one of America's best (conservative) writers could write a Charles Dickens-esque "Christmas Carol" parody, starring John Curry meeting various ghosts at The Wall.
The Swift Boat Vets are awaiting John McCain.
Thank you! Funny when I heard it and funnier the more I think about it. Also the comment by Brit Hume on Saddam reciting poetry in court makes this even funnier.
We know that illegal immigration is a problem. That is not the issue. We need to identify the extent and impact of illegal immigration in order to reform our laws and improve enforcement.
Why do none of your groups cite the gains then? It 100% negative. Again that is advocacy not scholarship.,/i>
My groups? If you look at the CIS site you will see that some gains or positives are cited. The WSJ has had some articles touting the importance of illegal immigration for business. The supporters of amnesty have made their views known in the MSM and in the streets. It is more difficult to find the counter arguments to illegal immigration except for anecdotal stories about emergency rooms being inundated or closing down. Anyone questioning whether these "hard working undocumented workers" are really an economic benefit or a security threat is labeled anti-immigrant or racist.
The point is that we are talking about illegal immigration, which is ipso facto negative, percentages aside. The status quo is not an option unless we just want to open our borders to anyone who comes in and declare them legal after the fact. After 9/11, our national security plays into the equation.
How much goods and services do your "176,000" plus illegals in NC buy? How much tax revenue does that economic activity generate? How much of the cost blamed on illegal are actually perfectly normal changes based on the inflationary pressures of a aging and growing population? What is the cost to the US Economy in lost activity and productivity of a 1 or 5 or 7% increase in labor costs? I don't know. However, I admit that. The Advocacy groups do not.
You seem to believe that this is just an economic issue and that as long as illegal immigrants are an economic plus, which they are not, it is ok. One fifth of the federal prison system are illegal immigrants and one-third of California's penal system. Does it matter that the increase for Mexican born residents (that we know of) in NC has increased more than 20 times in ten years?
You are asking for finite, precise data for an illegal population whose numbers are estimated anywhere from 11 million to 20 million. Many of them are part of the underground economy.
Do you think there is a problem with illegal immigration?
Metal fragments in an x-ray of a wound would look the same whether produced by a bullet or a random piece of debris in a crash. You would only know the difference based on an inspecition of the actual metal fragments, not just an x-ray. All the evidence I've seen has talked about these fragments as being items on an autopsy x-ray, not about any inspection of the fragments themselves identifying them as actually being bullet fragments.
I'm not saying they definitely aren't, but the info that AB has provided me an "Occam's razor" feeling that we're looking at a dry hole here. Even if there were foul deeds involved there's no way we could prove it.
What a great post, eevil!
My son works at a factory in the Albuquerque area that employs many spanish-only speakers. They are here on green cards, not illegals. The ones on a legal citizenship course sometimes take the rap for the illegals. I'm pretty sure that the company keeps a watchful eye on this.
