Mr. President, I thank Senator Leahy, ranking member on the Judiciary Committee. I have received just this afternoon in my office some disturbing news in the form of correspondence from the Congressional Budget Office. It suggests a number of areas where the amendment we are talking about here today, No. 3424, the immigration so-called compromise, violates our budget and the rules of the Senate. Let me read from the correspondence we have received. This is something, as you know, Mr. President, as a member of the Judiciary Committee, that we never discussed at all. It is not a matter we spent any time at all discussing as we moved forward with legislation which ultimately cleared that committee and came to the floor legislation which I thought was not good legislation and which I opposed, and so did the Senator from Texas, who just relinquished the Chair. We didn't discuss the financial impact of the legislation before us. Stand Up For America ! |

Mexica Movement activists protest in L.A.
WARNING -Before entering this website, please read this warning notice:
The website WeHateGringos.com is dedicated to exposing the other side of Illegal Immigration... the side our president, many in congress, the media and especially the racist hate groups do not want us to see.
Many pages on this website contain graphic examples of hate and racism that has, and is occurring in large cities and small towns across America.
The foul language, crude gestures, and vulgar photos will disturb most Americans. They are provided as true-life examples of what is happening almost daily in our country. We especially hope to reach those who may still believe that Illegal Immigration is harmless to our families, our neighborhoods, and our culture.

Few restaurants closed as immigrants rally
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Immigrant-owned taco stands and bakeries from California to New Jersey largely were shut down on Monday, but most U.S. restaurants reported no shortage of busboys and cooks despite a national boycott and major protests by pro-immigration activists.
In Los Angeles' predominantly Latino neighborhood of Echo Park, mom-and-pop bakeries joined other businesses in closing for the day. The same was true in a largely Hispanic area of Jersey City, New Jersey, where a normally busy Mexican restaurant was closed at lunch time.
A shortage of workers also extended to some restaurant chains. McDonald's Corp., for instance, said some of its restaurants were operating with limited staff or were just running their drive-thrus.

I must say this was one of the best days I have spent shopping , being on the road, it was actually peaceful and quiet, I did not realize how all those additional people clogged our streets.
There were absolutely NONE of them at construction sites.
They are a locust scourge on this country.
Please let them all be deported!!
I really hope that our politicians dont cave and give in to their demands!!
Americans in SE Houston were NOT brought to their knees. I have been out and about all day long... since early this morning. I am exhausted...:)-
The most striking thing I noticed today was there were fewer "latinos" out... but those out were shopping. Their children were also very well behaved... sorry... but that was a BIG "noticable" difference. Also very noticalbe were the number of blacks out shopping. I was wearing my You snuck in... Learn English T-shirt. The black ladies just got a big kick out of that... in every store I was in. I had a blast chit-chatting with them... while we were shopping. One other very noticable thing... a lot of "ethinic" groups were out. Houston is a very ethnic city, but it was strikingly obvious today people were out. I kept wondering if I was just imagining it, maybe being hypersensitive. I don't think so.
Okay... here is just a little of what I did:
Went early to a locally owned and operated car wash & did my own car wash & detailing. I made sure I was visible from the busy highway. (The shirt, ya' know!) Decided to do this because it is "one of those jobs American's aren't suppose to do". The rest is just girl shopping... shoes, clothes, grocery, filled up my Suburban with gas, went out to lunch at local burger joint, took the grandkids for Blizzards after school, & took my 12 year grandson to WalMart to by some weights. (He earned the money mowing yards!)
Mostly I stayed in the little town I live in, to support it's economy. It also has a large hispanic population. I did run errands in a couple towns about 20-30 miles from my house. I found 2 business' closed, and took pictures.
My grown kids and son-in-laws and my husband have been reporting to me from various areas in the Houston area. One son-in-law said a particular area of Houston, which is exclusively hispanic, was shut down. Stores, gas stations, everything. He said this typically booming area was like a ghost town. IMO, that is just silly... it's themselves they are hurting in that situation. One of my daughters works in the medical center nearby the main rally in Houston. She said she wasn't sure why, but it sure didn't seem to her to be "bringing Houston to its knees."
I've only caught a few glimpses on TV of what's going on across the country today. It breaks my heart. I don't have the stomach to watch it... nor the time.
Hope y'all had fun today in your endeavors to fight back. It has been a bittersweet day for me.
God Bless you all & our beloved country!

When we've had riots in chicago 60's etc the black areas were always hardest hit, I never understood thst, hurting their own
I have a sad story to share with all of you.
My Granddaughter, started her first job just little more than a month ago. She has saved all her money, just to go shopping on this date.
Her boy friend has owned a red 1967 ford mustang since high school that he has been restoring. Just got it all fixed up, new candy apple red paint job and got it registered.
Today was his first day of driving this beauty. He and my granddaughter took me to do my shopping and out to lunch. They dropped me off at home and went to Ontario mills mall to do their shopping.
My G.Daughter was so proud, because she had never had that much money to go shopping with before.
To shorten the story. they drove all the way to Ontario Mills mall pulled into the parking lot and got rear ended by an illegal alien, no drivers license, no insurance and works at McDonald's.
You would have to seen the pride of my G.Daughter, being Mexican/American and a proud American, doing something for her Country. And the tears in her boyfriends eyes at seeing his beautiful classic mustang damaged.
It even made me cry.
BTW: they both are OK, thank God...
