The fact they aren't enforcing those laws is living testimony that the current bills are not serious. Only a means to amnesty.
Never a more true statement made.
To: clawrence3
Are they at least 5% secure?
They are in the areas that the terrain makes it extremely difficult to cross.

The longer this is delayed the better, Tom.
Had breakfast with 4 democrats this morning and all of them are very against this illegal immigration continuing, and ALL of them were totally disgusted by the demonstrations.
Those demonstrations backfired big time with the 'regular' people who aren't too into politics.
Once these people finally get riled, something MIGHT be done and I think it's begining to happen.

I have stated several times I am fine with jailing / deporting ALL other criminals
When they come here illegally they ARE criminals!!!!!!! Why the line of seperation? Where do you get that line? How do you form it? Criminal:1 : one who has committed a crime 2 : a person who has been convicted of a crime

Until the treasonous act of placing water stations here and there defeat our natural border protections.
To: clawrence3
We could have 80% effectiveness just by enforcing the laws already on the books and beefing up enforcment on the border by 15,000 border patrol agents.

I'd rather dedicate those resources to catching terrorists.
To: BlueStateDepression
Because, the Senate is currently debating making them NOT criminals (as opposed to all other criminals), in case you missed that.

Thank you for the concession - now we are getting somewhere!

When a law is broken a criminal is made. Changing the law so that what they did was not a criminal act is hardly something that could be called constitutional.
Unless of course you care to have ALL laws be retroactive in that way.
Care to try again?
To: BlueStateDepression
Nope - I'll stick with the Senate version, and once it gets passed, good luck with declaring it unconstitutional in the SCOTUS : )
To: clawrence3
LOL @ once it gets passed. Hold onto that dream Clawrence.
Folks broke the law and the house has it right. Punish them. Do not expect this to blow over as it has so many times before. This time it just isn't going to happen.
It is implausible to say that making a law after the fact can see those that took an act prior to the law can be punished for it. Delay is a great example. That isn't gonna fly clawrence. Neither will this amnesty attempt.

You're obfuscating once again.
What's wrong with HR 4437?

The Senate version is pure guest worker-amnesty. It isn't going anywhere. Especially after conservative lawmakers and average Americans see all the upcoming protests from groups like La Raza. The more anti-American marches that take place and the more waving of foreign flags and burning the US flags we see on TV, will only embolden conservatives to hold the line on amnesty and pass into law whats really needed. A strong border enforcement and employer sanction bill. A temporary foreign worker program will have to wait until we slow down the invasion of foreigners into the USA. Remove the incentives and kick their stinking butts back home.

Which is why I think you will see many more U.S. than Mexican flags on May 1st ; )
