The president went to Charlotte, NC, to make remarks on the War on Terror, and welcomed various sports champions to the White House.
Laura Bush participated in some official duties -- see photo captions below.
Welcome to Sanity Island!
Yeah, we're finally going home to MS, but to the Coast. We won't be very near you, will we? Aren't you up by Vicksburg?
Yes, but you'll be only hours away!
I have been taking Lecithin for a while now - a spoonful in my morning fruit smoothie, for its purported benefits to brain function. I just hadn't had to reorder it since I switched to Swanson Vitamins, so hadn't added it to my favorites.
The Chlorella and Spirulina I added just now on the basis of a good write-up by Mike Adams: Superfoods For Optimum Health: Chlorella and Spirulina. Mike definitely tends to the overhype side of things, but still, seemed worthy of trying.
Fenugreek is on my list for its possible help in lowering blood sugar and cholesterol. Had I kept up my former diet, I'd probably have been diabetic in another decade. I'm not actually currently taking Fenugreek - it is one of a few items on my list that aren't in my daily potion.
Arginine helps improve the immune system, and reduce inflamation. It may have an affect like aspirin in reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease by reducing inflamation. See the article Should you Replace your Daily Aspirin with Arginine? for more discussion of this. Also Arginine is a precursor to Nitric Oxide, which tends to dilate blood vessels and reduce blood pressure, which was probably the reason it got on my list.
Great info, PC ... I thought *I* took a lot of supplements .. LOL .. whew!
I'm originally from Hattiesburg, and a couple of my brothers are there. My 3 sisters are all on the coast. SirKit's from Greenwood, though none of his family is there, anymore.
My younger s-i-l was visiting their older brother, the priest, over Christmas. She went out driving around, and got lost coming back to his place because the landmarks she was used to were no longer there. I remember what it looked like after Camille, but they say that this is even worse between the CSX tracks and the beach.
Anyway, our biggest job right now is sorting through 18 years of accumulated frap to decide what to pack, what to sell at a moving sale, or what to give away. We're paying for this move, so we're inclined to dump more stuff than we did with the two prior moves which were paid for by his employer.
Who knew that Kudzu would actually be a help to those good old boys?
LOL -- right, WHO KNEW!
Our daughter and I went to Japan last summer to visit some friends and we saw kudzu growing in its natural environment! Looked exactly like it does in MS, growing all over everything!
Still haven't figured out the purpose for roaches, red ants and skeeters!
LOL -- they're can't be a purpose for them.
Must be sumpin' .. food chain ?? ;)
LOL! I guess. I can't stand them, though I'll have to get used to them again.
The Arginine info is very interesting .. my son's a doc .. now adding anti-aging board certification ... gonna see what research he's seen.
Good night, you two!
I have been here too long and I am tired of this chair.
Looking forward to meeting you in person, Susie.
MS FReepers are getting "with it" and doing things together. We toured the Governor's mansion a couple of weeks back and then went to lunch. Great fun.
One of the welcome differences to now living in Chicago after 30+ years in FL is the glorious relief from bugs .. what a difference. There's really none, except the occasional fly or bees by blooming flowers. Geckos were everywhere in FL, and I loved them. But the other creatures were so annoying.
The mushrooming of research results this time around that I've seen since ten years ago is remarkable. I'm seeing credible results on a much wider range of nutrients than just the basic vitamins, minerals and amino acids I saw a few decades ago, or even that plus a minimal understanding of fats and carbohydrates a decade ago.
The increased communication supported by the Internet and the increased productivity of research efforts thanks to much wider availability of computers over this last decade have exponentially accelerated this, and many other, sorts of research.
The traditional medicine approach to diabetes, stroke, aging, Alzheimer's, obesity and cardiovascular disease has been dramatically discredited -- your physician just doesn't know it yet, nor are the very profitable medical, pharmaceutical and food industries that depend on the current paradigms in any hurry to adapt.
There are strong parallels between this, and the rebirth of Conservativism in the United States, thanks to radio and the internet.
Pulling hair out got nasty message cannot copy when tried to do backup now have to do each folder separately
Maybe you've touched on the cause of this ...
I know this is being posted late on the thread but I needed a laugh and ran across this again, so anyone who wanders by, enjoy, in memory of the zotted poster last night.

"But, O beloved Freeper! If the banned can come back to this forum and flit unseen around those posters they loved, lurking on Live Car Chase Threads, I shall always be near you; in the garish day and in the darkest night -- amidst your happiest scenes and gloomiest hours -- in your private mail and your Friday Silliness Threads -- always, always; and if there be a soft breeze upon your cheek, it shall be my breath; or the cool air fans your throbbing beeber, it shall be my Ping! to a goofy thread passing by.

Unfortunately, he wasn't banned. Must've been a very short suspension. His page is back up.
