My Dad tells a funny story about when he was young and his father sent him outside to hand-grind the horseradish root (round about 1955-ish). If you've never done it before, the fumes will literally knock over a horse and make it's eyes water for days if it done in a small room with the windows closed. After a litte while, his Dad went out to check on him. He cracked up laughing! There was my Dad, grinding the horseradish with his swim mask and snorkle on!

I'm gonna put your hubby on our Parish prayer list for an accurate diagnosis and successful treatment of whatever it is.

Well it's helped with the lung troubles which I come by honestly from MOM. The asthma is a different thing, I think.
