BAGHDAD, April 6 (Reuters) - The U.S. military said on Thursday that Iraqi forces had captured a former senior intelligence official under Saddam Hussein who now has close ties to the al-Qaeda leader in Iraq Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. A military statement said Muhammad al-Ubaydi, who now heads the Secret Islamic Army in northern Babel province, was captured by Iraqi forces in southern Baghdad on March 7.

I guess they waited a month to announce his capture so they could act on whatever intel they got out of him before the word got out.

The U.S. is finally learning. Don't tell the press or the demorats. They will spill the beans in order to undermine this nation.

I hope they interrogated him with a blow torch and a rusty pair of pliers.

I beleive this is the guy they caught:
AMIR RASHID MUHAMMAD AL-UBAYDI
He was the former advisor and oil minister for Saddam. This guy is the 6 of spades on the playing deck. Big fish, closely connected to Zarqawi. He is suspected to be the chief financier of the insurgency, very well connected. There were rumors of a big fish being caught and some speculation had it that Zarqawi himself got nabbed because of the buzz in-country.
Lets hope he is singing.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- The U.S. military says Iraqi forces have captured the prime suspect in last year's kidnapping of Italian journalist Giuliana Sgrena.

This real news will get lost in the boring-ass hoopla of Katie Couric's chair change. Not that the LameStream Media would cover it anyway--good news from the war doesn't interest them. At all.

There were a lot of creepy hostages in Iraq but the horrid Sgrena wins first place:
--She went there to sympathize with the terrorists and get anti-US propaganda;
--She worked with her captors to make her filmed plea more desperate;
--she got an Italian intelligence officer killed;
--She has the left Italian judiciary charging a US soldier;
--She put millions in the hands of terrorists probably killing hundreds of Iraqis and US soldiers.
She is vomit.

Good info on that press release. Thanks. Definitely a solid hit on the terrorist money pipeline.
