WASHINGTON — House Republicans, reacting to the confrontation last week between Rep. Cynthia McKinney and a Capitol Police officer she is accused of hitting, pressed for a resolution Tuesday to commend the police force for its professionalism.
Democratic leaders did not defend McKinney or her charge of racial profiling.
"I don't think any of it justifies hitting a police officer," said House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi of California. "If it did happen I don't think it was justified."
Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland, the No. 2 Democrat in the House, said all lawmakers, staffers and visitors in the building have a responsibility to obey Capitol Police. "I think we all should cooperate fully," he said.

I think it is very appropriate to recognize these officers right now during this time when they are under attack by the Democrats.
Her state cannot recall her, her District cannot recall her. This is an excellent way for the GOP to embarass the RATS since the zombies who put her in the House will do so once again by an overwhelming margin if she even has opposition.
But it shows once again the craven idiocy of most of these RAT Congressmen.
DeLay ran himself into trouble which the GOP can not help him with. Nor is the GOP "caving to Mexican nationals" the government arrests and deports almost 3300 per DAY over 150 per HOUR 2.5 per MINUTE. However, it also will not cave into the fringe anxious to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Most of the Hysterical have NO conception of the size of this issue. Many have never been Bush fans either.
If they "lay down" for democRATS anymore the latter will explode from hatred and desperation. That is the prevailing mood in the Party of Treason far from any celebration based upon your sexual fantasies misapplied to the political situation.
Rush had a clip at the end of his show today with Wolfe Blitzer interviewing McKinney. He warned us that she had made a statement and then denied it. But, I was still shocked when I heard the clip. First she told Blitzer that the cop's action was taken because she is black. A minute later, Blitzer asked her about that, and she REPEATEDLY DENIED that she had said it. How dumb can the woman be? She didn't even try to finesse out of it. she just totally denied it within 60 seconds of having said it.
We should do away with security in the Capitol Building. Since we cannot get the people that these high levels of security are intended to protect to cooperate with the security procedures, I say stop trying to protect them altogether. I bet that would get their attention. BTW, can I slap a police officer if I get pulled over for not wearing my seatbelt? No, absolutely not...and I would never dream of assaulting a policeman for trying to enforce a law that was designed to protect me.

If we're fortunate all we'll hear about for the next several weeks is McKinney and her supporters squawking like magpies, playing the race card over, and over, and over, and over again.
We need to ensure that Pelosi and the DNC remain mired as deep in the McKinney quagmire as possible for as long as possible. The longer they're stuck there, the less energy and time they have to devote to mounting an offensive in time for November's elections.

Local/state law enforcement shouldn't need anything from the feds to do their jobs.
