WASHINGTON House Republicans, reacting to the confrontation last week between Rep. Cynthia McKinney and a Capitol Police officer she is accused of hitting, pressed for a resolution Tuesday to commend the police force for its professionalism.
Democratic leaders did not defend McKinney or her charge of racial profiling.
"I don't think any of it justifies hitting a police officer," said House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi of California. "If it did happen I don't think it was justified."
Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland, the No. 2 Democrat in the House, said all lawmakers, staffers and visitors in the building have a responsibility to obey Capitol Police. "I think we all should cooperate fully," he said.

Congressional Democrats seem to be changing their tune. Have they seen the light regarding the sleazy behavior of Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA)?

Only after a week of polling and finding out that voters do not believe Congressmen who strike a police officer should be above the law!
What is worse, being indicted on false charges for crimes that did not exist at the time or striking a police officer for doing his duty?

Next time, don't touch her. Let your Taser do the touching.
To: OkeyDokeyOkie
This is a publicity stunt. If they really mean anything at least censure her.

Excellent point. Now to test the mettle of the District of Columbia US Attorney's office. If any one of us had hit a police officer, we would have been arrested on the spot. We wouldn't have had the opportunity to gather school-age sign bearers, a has-been singer and an actor with a grudge to stage a rally for us before a national audience. It's time for Cynthia McKinney's perp walk.

What will happen to Cynthia now??
If it happens again, I like the taser idea!

She could have handled the situation like a professional and a lady but chose to be an arrogant b*tch . The press conference was WAY over the top and full of every race baiting , hack statement I've ever heard.Even the loony left won't touch her nw. she really put her foot in her mouth . A simple apology would have let it all go away in a day . What a moron. I hope she has commited political suicide on this one .

She could always go back to her "teaching" position at Cornell University, for which I am sure she is overly qualified.

Yeah, but then you don't get entertaining videos like
this one.
To: OkeyDokeyOkie
They need to waste time voting on this? Don't we have police who can do this without Congressional symbolism?
Reminds me of the banning "French" in French Fries vote at the congressional cafeteria.

Believe it or not there are some who would argue that her behavior is consistent with what it means to be a Black Woman in today's world.

McKinney is a commie nutball and ought to go to jail for this. And she should be kicked out of the House and she should be recalled by her own state. That said...
Is this the only thing Pubbie Congress critters have a pair enough to stand up to? No help for Delay. Caving to Mexican nationals. The only positions they know when confronting Dems on anything else are laying down, bending over and on the knees.

Don't think they've seen the "light," it's more likely they've seen the video tape!
In order to scream "culture of corruption," the Dems need to have this story and other stories fade away quickly: McKinney's revelations about misusing staff funds, Baghdad Jim McDermit's illegal wiretapping, Schumer's staffers who stole Michael Steele's identity papers.
Culture of Corruption, indeed!
