Congressional Democrats seem to be changing their tune. Have they seen the light regarding the sleazy behavior of Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA)?

Only after a week of polling and finding out that voters do not believe Congressmen who strike a police officer should be above the law!
What is worse, being indicted on false charges for crimes that did not exist at the time or striking a police officer for doing his duty?

Next time, don't touch her. Let your Taser do the touching.

This is a publicity stunt. If they really mean anything at least censure her.

What will happen to Cynthia now??
If it happens again, I like the taser idea!

They need to waste time voting on this? Don't we have police who can do this without Congressional symbolism?
Reminds me of the banning "French" in French Fries vote at the congressional cafeteria.

McKinney is a commie nutball and ought to go to jail for this. And she should be kicked out of the House and she should be recalled by her own state. That said...
Is this the only thing Pubbie Congress critters have a pair enough to stand up to? No help for Delay. Caving to Mexican nationals. The only positions they know when confronting Dems on anything else are laying down, bending over and on the knees.

Don't think they've seen the "light," it's more likely they've seen the video tape!
In order to scream "culture of corruption," the Dems need to have this story and other stories fade away quickly: McKinney's revelations about misusing staff funds, Baghdad Jim McDermit's illegal wiretapping, Schumer's staffers who stole Michael Steele's identity papers.
Culture of Corruption, indeed!

Tom Delay said if she is arrested and not brought before the ethics committee, he will bring it up.

Rush had a clip at the end of his show today with Wolfe Blitzer interviewing McKinney. He warned us that she had made a statement and then denied it. But, I was still shocked when I heard the clip. First she told Blitzer that the cop's action was taken because she is black. A minute later, Blitzer asked her about that, and she REPEATEDLY DENIED that she had said it. How dumb can the woman be? She didn't even try to finesse out of it. she just totally denied it within 60 seconds of having said it.

We should do away with security in the Capitol Building. Since we cannot get the people that these high levels of security are intended to protect to cooperate with the security procedures, I say stop trying to protect them altogether. I bet that would get their attention. BTW, can I slap a police officer if I get pulled over for not wearing my seatbelt? No, absolutely not...and I would never dream of assaulting a policeman for trying to enforce a law that was designed to protect me.

Am I the only one who sees this as a way for our spineless congress to put off taking a stand on illegal immigration?

"I don't think any of it justifies hitting a police officer," said House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi of California. "If it did happen I don't think it was justified." Translation: Yeah, yeah she was an idiot for doing this. Let's move on to more important things. Stop shining the light on us Democrats instead of those awful Republicans.

No. They're cowardly and craven on national security and law enforcement. No one should ever assault a police officer. If the rest of us did what Cynthia McKinney did, we'd be arrested on the spot and spend a good deal of time in jail. Her status shouldn't decrease the severity of her punishment; on the contrary, it ought to increase it because from someone of her station, more is expected. Ignorance of the law is no excuse and that's especially true of a law-maker.

If you could get an honest reply out of any of them, I'm sure all the big-name Dems would like to see McKinney go back to Georgia and crawl back under the rock she was living in. I'll bet they've pretty much had it with her screwball antics.
