CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (AP) -- Among the items on the City Council's agenda seems a simple matter: Whether to give rowers a permit to have a boat race this summer on a small man-made lake.
But because the rowers are gay - participating in something called the Gay Games - what would normally be a mundane debate about parking and street closures is instead a heated battle between those who see the event as a threat to their small-town way of life and those who see such views as simply small-minded.
On Tuesday, the City Council was scheduled to discuss whether to allow the Olympics-style Gay Games to hold its rowing event in this bedroom community of 40,000 about 50 miles northwest of Chicago.

Because they're too stupid to realize the more they try to force their homosexual agenda on everyone, the more they just p*ss everyone off. Why would they have their "gay games" in a small town in mid-America anyway?
The event is one based on recreational sex.
The reaction should be the same as if it is the "animal sex" games, "bondage" games, the "pain for fun" games, or any other explicit sexual act.
This is not an athletic event, this is a recreational sex event by its name and intention. The town is very right to deny the event.
Why should such sexual deviance be exposed to the public where children are going to see it. Sorry but homosexuals have no right to parade their sexual act in public.

Because they want to rub it in the faces of people who they know will be against it. It's the same reason they like to stay "gay parades" in places like Rome and Jerusalem--it's shocking, it's "in your face", it'll piss off the "homophobes". They're not interested in merely remaining in their communities and minding their own business; they like to provoke.

Actually, the situation is that participants from these games come from foreign countries, not just the U.S.A. And I've seen it reported that at the behest of Mayor Daley, the State Department relaxed it's normal visa requirements to allow HIV+ people to come into the U.S. to participate in these games.
