I have a favorite quote for the pacificists:
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

If ever a group wasn't worth the effort and risk to free them, it's these guys. AMEN! Good article, by the way - thanks for posting it.

For the love of the God you claim to follow, hire a public relations consultant. They do not follow God.
These little people are out only to boost their own sense of inferiority.
The god they follow is stupidity and in that boat are all Muslims also!

These groups would be the ones making sure there were straight lines and no shoving while marching to the gas chambers. Who do they think got them released ...Jimmy Carter's Sunday School class? What about their compatriot who was tortured and then shot in the head? I'm sure they are blaming Bush for that. These people make me want to puke.

I have often wondered just how involved in their own "kidnappings" these idiots are. It soothes me a bit to know that they ALWAYS get more than they bargained for when they find out that the terrorists aren't exactly what they fantasized.
These "peace activists" are exactly what Rush said they are: lonely, unimportant little people who do not matter. They want desperately to be involved, somehow so as to NOT feel as unimportant as they are.
These had no business being in a war zone, no reason to be there, but wanted to do something, ANYTHING to assuage their pathetic little egos.
These morons are no different from those we have been seeing since VietNam.

They claim to be against violence yet condone these same people that violently murdered their driver and translator. They had guns so I wonder why they're willing to protect and assist them to kill more than assist us so that we can prevent the very thing they're against...more killing.

They're like the guy at the party who won't kick in for the pizza but sneaks a slice when he thinks nobody's looking. so true.

See, members of Christian Peacemaker Teams are pacifists and they don't co-operate with men with guns who might use the information to track down kidnappers and/or terrorists and shoot them in the head until they agree to stop kidnapping and/or terrorizing people. I know you have thought of these matters. Would you agree that these people are way off base in refusing to cooperate with the authorities in the cited instance?
My two cents: I believe they are free to believe as they choose, right up to the point that their beliefs place others in danger. They have crossed that line and should be held accountable for aiding and abetting.

I've been waiting for months to see something in print exposing these phony, "Rachel Corrie Wannabees" and the author of this piece really nailed it!
My negative thoughts about wimpy, pacifist Canadians have
been challenged by this excellent article.
Thanks for the post.
