Representative Cynthia A. McKinney and her legal advisers blamed racial bias Friday for her run-in with a Capitol police officer as the incident ballooned into a political furor.
At a news conference at Howard University, Ms. McKinney, a Georgia Democrat, said her physical altercation with the unidentified officer, who was screening visitors to a House office building on Wednesday, was the officer's fault.
"Let me be clear," Ms. McKinney said, surrounded by supporters at the historically black university. "This whole incident was instigated by the inappropriate touching and stopping of me, a female black congresswoman. I deeply regret this incident occurred, and I am certain that after a full review of the facts, I will be exonerated."
One of her lawyers, James Myart, said the case typified a pattern of police harassment of black Americans. "My belief is this is no different than that: 'they all look alike,' " he said.

The encounter took place at a checkpoint to a building across Independence Avenue from the Capitol. According to accounts by police officers and Congressional officials, Ms. McKinney went around one of the metal detectors that are at the entrances and staffed by the police. The officer reportedly told her to stop, and when she did not he apparently tried to stop her, provoking a physical response from Ms. McKinney. Members of Congress are allowed to sidestep the metal detectors.
Ms. McKinney acknowledged that she had not been wearing the lapel pin that would have identified her as a member of Congress. But she said the police responsible for protecting lawmakers should recognize them on sight.

Mr. Myart, the lawyer, said Ms. McKinney was exploring her legal options and would pursue a criminal investigation against the officer.

Well, MY belief is that this is no different than: 'don't you know who I am, you insignificant speck racist African-American-hating cop?'
So, are you saying that it was worse because you are female, black, or a congresswoman? Or does being all three at once elevate you to that privileged class known as "Untouchable"?
Yadda, Yadda, Yadda -- the worst racists in the country calling the police racist. Right out of the black liberal playbook...and she did it without Jesse or Al even doing it for her...This witch is SO STUPID all she can do is yell "racist"...
Attention all Black Americans!! Here is your role model -- right here. A harbinger of victimization, ultra low IQ, and gross lying hypocrisy. Follow this lead, and you will never come out of the ghettos or rise to your potential.
It is still totally disgusting this piece of trash could ever get into the Congress -- guess it says something about liberals in the Congress.
What a vile creature!
She missed coming out as a lesbian.
WHat a race-baiting, vile and loathesome creature she is.
How in the Hell did this woman ever make it into Congress? Can you imagine the outrage from the Left if Tom DeLay had done this? This is beyond sickening; Georgians in her district need to recall this loser ASAP.
You really should change that. We have many Black Americans on the conservative side who are just as sickened by the likes of McKinney as we are.
Paleese Cynthia. Get a grip, ya big ole' whining, irresponsible, arrogant baby. Take responsibility. I am saddened how they manipulate this by having her say this at Howard University. I can't wait to see who else will come forward to support the claim of there being a pattern of this sort of discrimination. Girl should have worn her damn pin that let people know she works there. After all security is set up for her protection.
"Let me be clear," Ms. McKinney said, surrounded by supporters at da historically black university. "This whole incident was instigated by da inappropriate touchin and stoppin of me, a bit*h black congressbit*h. I deeply regret dis incident occurred, and I be certain dat after a full review of da facts, I be exonerated."
I WANT TO SEE THE TAPE!
Yeah, you gotta be careful with the black police force in DC. They can't tell the difference between Denny Hastert and Nancy Pelosi....

Change it? Not at all. It is high time that conservative, respectable Black Americans started cleaning up the ranks of these low-lifes, like McKinney. Why are the good, respectable, hard-working conservative blacks not standing up and putting these gutter rats in their place -- demanding they clean up their act because they continue to pull down the image of Black Amercia?? That really is what will end this plague of racist opportunists that continue to not only make trouble, but continue to defile the image of good Black Americans....
