Just got home from work, and was listening to Joe Crummy on KFYI interview one of the dads of the kids that burned the Mexican flag:
Apparently, his kid was arrested by AJ Police and was held in detention in Florence all day yesterday. CHarged with Arson. It took all of their savings to get a retainer for an atty.
It gets better. The family is now getting death threats. They were informed by police that there are those trying to find out where the family lives, and are going after them. AJ police stated to the father, there is nothing they can do about it, until someone actually shows up on their property.
Also, there was another kid from the school (Rod, who said he was a "future" Marine) read that letter from the school, forbiding any kid to wear any article of clothing resembling or representing a flag, no matter what country it represents.
He said emphatically, that he *will* wear the US Flag to school Monday.
Apparently this flag burning was near the ROTC table.
My respect for the kids in AJ have grown a hundred fold!

I'm here in Maine and thurday I got a text message on my cell phone which said to call Sen. Jon Kyl's office and tell him to vote against the house billand it included the number of the bill HR... (or something like that) and it included Kyl's Phoenix phone number.
The text message was sent from a number in Mexico!
Did Tony ever address Trav's question about his CFR membership and that organization's "one border for three former nations / North American Community" policy? I'd be surprised if he did.
I'm not surprised.
There's a lot of money behind all this protest BS.
I wouldn't be surprised if Vincente Fox himself wasn't shipping them by the hundreds to the north...
BTW, where is "AJ"?
This teenager was rightly keeping a foreign banner from being posted at a government establishment. According to reports, the students raised the flag at least twice over his objections. They refused to listen.
He knows what it means when a foreign banner is posted on your native soil. That is provocation at the very least, at most an act of war. He remedied the situation. He "captured" the flag and disposed of it properly.
What a country!
Burning American flag = Protected Free Speech
Burning Mexican flag = A FELONY!
I missed it all and only got to see the aftermath.
The usual suspects (a tiny minority here as you know) dancing on Matt's demise
sickening
"Don't let the pro-illegal alien supporters here on FR hear you. They'll be on you like a duck on a June bug. They arrive in swarms."
I must be reading the right threads then. I haven't seen any of those critters...yet.
Too bad he's a juvie and we don't have his name.....I'll bet we could get him a GREAT lawyer if we worked at it.
Open your eyes

Maybe the ACLU will help him out........ wait, I take that back.
Sorry, you put it on a flagpole that you don't own and it becomes fair game. They repeatedly raised it over his objections. He removed it and disposed of it. Had he removed it and given it back to them, they would have raised it again.
Oh it is going to get a lot worse before this lets up the least little bit. I look for the next civil war down here in the SW states. This could be that little spark to start it all . . . . . There are a lot of pi$$ed LEGALS here in Phoenix as a result of the traffic jams from the 20,000 march a wekk ago, and the students cutting HS classes all week in order to march on the Capitol. Stay tuned.
Saw it. The FROBLs getting so giddy about a mere suspension is quite pathetic.
Sounds like there'll be a Civil War here before there's one in Iraq.
It's Friday night, they may be imbibing....lol
Arson is defined as follows (please keep in mind that various jurisdictions DO modify this definition):
The crime of maliciously, voluntarily, and willfully setting fire to the building, buildings, or other property of another person or of burning one's own property for an improper purpose, as to collect insurance.
Hope this is of some use to you, and FReegards! Whether or not the school district had to expend funds to put out the fire will not matter one whit as to whether charges of ''arson'' might or might not be filed. In any case, if some unlawful burning has occurred, the proper action at law would be for the property owner (the school district, aka the taxpayers? Who owned said flag?) to file a tort claim against the person(s) who destroyed their property, in which action they would be able to (attempt to) claim incidental damages also.
