The Root Cause (Illegal Immigration's Apologists Depantsed)
my own thoughts ^ | 03/31/2006 | DoughtyOne

Illegal immigration is recognized by many U.S. Citizens to be a threat to our nation. It's is a balkanizing process. It disrupts communities. It places financial strain on regions of our nation. It costs our nation tens of billions of dollars a year, if not hundreds. It is destroying our health care system. It disrupts the education system financially and in the teaching process due to language problems. It can place English speaking children at a disadvantage, in that spanish children receive elevated resources while English speaking kids take a back seat in the early years. There are problems of serious crime, multiple identities and recidivism.

These are serious issues, but let's ignore them. Remember, the apologists for illegal immigrants do it all the time. For once lets join them. (temporarily)

Right now lets spend a few moments exploring the number one rationalization for allowing the United States to be invaded and over-run by another nation's populace.

And what is that rationalization? Well of course, it's the "fact" that Mexicans only want a chance to earn a living for their families.

Think about that for a moment. You and I are being asked to allow our nation to be over-run, our language replaced, our neighbor's job and possibly your own given to a foreign national. We are being asked to pay their children's education. We are being asked to give them free health care. We are being asked to accept hospitals having to reduce services across the board, in order to recoup the expenditures for which hospitals are not reimbursed. Not only do you pay for illegal aliens health care, your own is being savaged in the process. You may not think so. That's okay. It is. All of this is asked, or more accurately demanded of you and I. We have very little choice.

I have never read an article about starvation in Mexico. I have never read of children being taken to mass orphanages because parents couldn't support them. I have never seen expansive stories about homelessness. Although Tijuana's cardboard city is legendary, people seem to be able to survive over there. I don't like the fact that Mexico's government allows this, but I am powerless to do anything about it. Trashing my own nation is not an option as far as I am concerned.

Look, I don't like homeless people on the streets of Los Angeles, but I'm not going to invite ten of them into my house to fix it. The United States is your and my house.

What I see is a massive number of people who wanted to live a better life, and decided to take that life from us. As your tax dollars go to pay for these people, that is exactly what is happening. They are taking from us. Lets be clear about this. These folks were not dying. They were not in danger of losing their family. They were not in danger of starving. What we are talking about, is a bunch of people who wanted a better life. That's it. That's all it amounted to.

How about you folks? It's all relative. I mean you're not dying. You're not in danger of losing your family. You're not in danger of starving. What we are talking about here is a better life. Do you want a better life? That's it. That's all we're talking about here.

Under the current policy of the United States, foreign nationals are entitled to a better life. Unless we're a racist nation, U.S. Citizens should be entitled to a better life also. As we have seen, breaking laws is an approved method of achieving a better life. It's okay for people to break into our nation. People can work in violation of U.S. laws. People are entitled to free health care for their whole family, and all children are entitled to a free education. That this can be achieved is proof positive that crime does pay, and all it takes to justify this is that you want a better life for you and your family.

This is rather liberating. I've wanted a new home for quite some time. Tomorrow morning I can go outside, take one look at the beautiful day, get in my car and go shopping. By tomorrow evening I'll have picked out a great new house, where I plan to move in. I'll pack up and move in on the following day. The next day I'll pick out a new car on the local dealer's lot and demand the keys. If I show up at the door, they'll have to serve me. Our current health care polices for illegal immigrants have proven that.

If I want more income, I'll just go to the local bank and have one of my kids walk up to the teller and demand $100,000. After all, the children of illegal immigrants are given a $100,000 education for free. When that runs out, I make certain to have had another kid who can walk up to the teller.

You know, this illegal immigration thing is looking better all the time. I take that headline back. I think it's the obstructionists like myself who have been depantsed. Who could argue against what the apologists for illegal immigrant have been backing for decades. I think they may be on the right track after all.

Hey folks, there's going to be a party at my new home on the 17th, I'll post the address, date and time later so all my friends with new homes, new cars and lots of cash can drop by.

U.S. flags optional of course...

You know what Ben, I recognize that there is a difference too. The problem is, as part of the package you have to accept an astonishing amount of crime form the body of illegal immigrants as a whole. We don't keep out the criminals. I'm sorry you didn't know that.

As people flood across our frontier, murderers and rapists come right along with the rest. If we stopped illegal immigration, that would stop.

This is something that you have dodged through this whole tread. 40,000 victims in one year, are not enough for you to be honest about this subject. And that's just one city.

As long as your pet group gets to come here and do as they please, you don't give one seconds thought to those who are murdered, raped, molested and a whole lot of other things.

Illegal immigrants do NOT belong here. It has been against the law and our leaders are so adled at this time in our nation's history, that they will change the laws and grant amnesty to those who will not abide by them.

Which laws are next Ben? Should we remove the panalty for murder, rape, molestation and a myriad of other crimes? Come on Ben, illegal behavior has been sanctified by you. Own up to it fella.

"If we stopped illegal immigration, that would stop"

There are 3 more universally accepted facts regarding illegal aliens and criminal aliens.

1. The large number of illegals crossing the border allow the criminal aliens to also cross and move back anf forth.
2. Within the country, criminal aliens are hiding among the illegal aliens.
3. The industry producing fake documents that the illegal aliens use for employment is also providing documents for the criminal aliens, enabling the to avoid detection and apprehension more easily.

Which brings me to a last fact that, tho it is not universally accepted, it is widely accepted that if a workable guest worker plan was created and legal status for the illegals in the country were granted, dealing with the problem of criminal aliens would be much more successful.

How many criminal illegal aliens do you expect to register for citizenship Ben? I don't expect many of them to and that's not going to affect the criminal element much at all.

BTW, there will still be illegal aliens coming across the border. Legalizing a bunch at this time won't resolve any issues. They'll still be getting services for free and we'll still have millions more of them pouring in.

Those that don't pour in illegaly will be pouring in under a guest worker program. Shortly immediate family members will be able to apply and come over legaly. If anything, the rate of entry will increase under these plans, although some will be termed legal and others still won't.

Children will still be flooding into our schools, unable to handle them. Hospitals will still be the haven for those without insurance. Who's going to carry insurance if they can get health care for free?

What we are doing is legalizing in part, recognizing that the flood will continue, and accepting the burden the middle class will have to carry on their backs.

This is going to be one big free-for-all, well for all but the U.S. Citizen that is.

Now we are back to economic impact? Let me repeat.

You exaggerate the negative impact.
You have no comprehension of the fact that economists measure impact with the "thru-time" method.
You ignore/deny the positive impact.

Whatever the impact, that you erroneously calculate, you hold it up as a subjective number. Most people, objectively, would evaluate the economic impact by comparing it to other scenarios.

For a fact, there are immigrants in this country because a low domestic birth rate. For a fact, there are illegal immigrants in this country because Congress constricted the legal immigration quotas.

In order to be objective, we have to compare the economic impact of the illegals to the economic impact of those additional legal immigrants that would have been here instead of illegals had Congress allowed an adequate level of legal immigration. We also would want to compare the economic impact of the illegals to the additional domestic born had there been an adequate birth rate such that neither legals nor illegals had been needed.

In both of these cases, the economic impact is roughly equivalent.

What you don't understand is the fact that there has to be poor people. Its a law of economics. Income distribution follows a bell curve. If there had been an adequate birth rate, economic and other factors would insure that an adequate number of native born would have been poor/the underclass. They would have had a very similar impact to the illegals.

If there had of been an adequate legal immigration rate, these legal immigrants would have had a similar economic impact.

It has been proven time after time in our history, that importing poor people/an underclass is beneficial to both the native born and the new arrivals. For the native born, the new arrivees do the low pay work and the native born do the higher pay work. For the new arrivee, he gets a shot at the dream and those that arrive later will come in under him.

Let me put a bug in your brain. A concept of how, who, and when education is paid for.

The misconception is that you are paying to educate the illegal children. The reality is that everybody receives a free education. Everybody includes you, me, the illegals, the legals, the native born, everybody. After we receive our free education, we earn our way thru life and a part of what we earn, thru taxes, we pay back to the education system for the education that we received. While you may think that you are paying to educate the illegals, you are actually paying for your free education. The fact that you are complaining means that you are a cheapskate.
