House conservatives yesterday issued a dire warning to President Bush and Republican leadership that they will pay a devastating political price if they proceed with a guest-worker program or anything resembling amnesty for illegal aliens before securing the borders and enforcing existing immigration laws.
"They will remember in November," Rep. J.D. Hayworth, Arizona Republican, said of voters nationwide. "And many of those who have stood with our Republican majority in the last decade are not only angry, many of them plan to be absent from the polls" this year when the entire House and one-third of the Senate is up for re-election.

All he needs to do is read ANY paper in Washington DC. He's like the Energizer Bunny.
Just an observation, and it aint a good one. It's rare that you see someone step on the toes of over 200 million people all at once.
And the Times says RINO Frist is wavering as usual. "Speak stickly, and carry a big soft"....That describes him.
"...amnesty for illegal aliens..."
This could be the "straw" that breaks the back of the Republican party...something that McCain is diligently working on to ensure.
And the Times says RINO Frist is wavering as usual.

He's been Bush's sock puppet since he took office. It surprised me that he rush to support the Bush/Kennedy/Specter pro-criminal bill. I'm not surprised that he's reverting to his natural state.
McCain and other liberal scum bags.
It would appear someone has bought a clue.
It'd be nice if they would have had a spine while being proactive, instead of having a spine while reacting to problems Republicans created - Harriet Miers, Dubai Ports, immigration...
For "Thunder on the Border," click the picture:
( PS- my personal prediction? That picture will become one of the most widely distributed, and hated, pictures on the internet. The Illegal Invader lobby could not have done more damage to themselves with that "Mexican Flag Superior, America in Distress" shot if they had tried... )
GOOD
I don't think it's going to play out quite as J.D. Hayworth fears, because I don't think any bill is going to actually make it out of Congress. They'll be a lot of debate and even more posturing, but little action.
And that will prove to be very bad news. Because the border will not be secured, and there will be a last-minute crush of illegals who have gotten the message loud and clear: this is your last chance to come to the U.S.
There are days when I think Bush is as dumb as DU thinks he is. Some days.
In a word, NO!!!! Bush has done so many things right in the WOT. However, on this issue, he will make his biggest mistake. As a result it is a no brainer to see that the Republicans will LOSE the House and the Senate. The Reps NEVER truly have leaders (except for Reagan) who have the principles and will to make hard decisions. The immigration issue will hand Congress over to the evil left. The Republicans will fail us an will deserved to be punished at the polls. Damn the Reps in Congress for letting us down.
I am with you. Just like his dad's decision to renege on the "Read my lips, no new taxes" resulted in handing over the White House to the demos, Bush's push for amnesty will hand Congress over to the Demos. It is a train wreck. How can Bush not see the damage he will do to this Republic?
This people left me seething and very angry. The people who hung that flag, are enemies of everything that is great about this Republic. If someone tries this flag waving crap again, someone should shoot them dead, on the spot. Enough of these scum attacking my country, especially from within.
2.) convict those who hire illegals
3.) cut off funds for states who 'facilitate' illegals
4.) deport illegals in our jails
His head is not in his butt, never has been, ........ it just may sometime seem that way.
These are tough times......... not a time to give in to the Democrats. They are NOT an alternative.

Did you know that:
According to the Bureau of Justice, twenty-nine percent of the inmates in federal prisons are aliens.
According to the House of Representatives, illegal aliens cost state and local governments more than $13,000,000,000.00 per year.
An alien comes into this country illegally at about the rate of one a minute... that's 60 an hour... 1400 a day... and over 42,000 every month.
That's not a trickle -- that's a tidal wave.
That's not a problem -- that's an epidemic.
